Roots Athletic Center is the premier indoor and outdoor sports facility in Western Massachusetts. The RAC is an indoor/outdoor facility with three large indoor artificial turf fields, an indoor track, sports performance gym, and two full-size outdoor turf fields with lights. The learn to swim program they have at Roots is absolutely fantastic. Jenn the director has a fantastic group of teachers, we have been so happy coming here for years
Great place... though I feel that private cars should be limited to the parking lot during multiple games/attendance... it gets tight and creates lots of blind spots.
Best facilities in the area for indoor/outdoor rec soccer leagues. Fields are maintained and the leagues are well run. Won’t be leaving anytime soon!
This was the second time attending a kids soccer game here. I am so impressed with the space. It is large and clean and a great place to attend a game.
It's a good spot for the kids to play soccer. The only down fall is that when it rains the roof leaks into the building inside and the food at the cossession stand is way over priced. Not much seating is provided for parents eighter.
Gorgeous Fall day. Beautifully maintained faux fields. Indoor fields are awesome, well maintained. 1 full size field, 2 smaller. Busy place! Snack bar with soft pretzels, hot dogs and coffee. Clean bathrooms. Roots has great facilities. It is a great benefit to the Westfield community.
Great facility. We utilize the indoor soccer fields for my son's team. I know they have cycling and a pitching area in the building. The little cafe is great for early morning practice/games.
If you or your child plays soccer, you can't beat this state of the art facility. Has 3 indoor fields, a raised indoor track, and will be opening food vendors. Great views of two fields from the mezzanine.

Fields outside were clearly marked and in great shape. 2 or more inside fields just as good. They have a batting cage, cycle room, and sports training room.
My daughter did the summer selelect program. She had a really great time.
First time coming here for my grandsons soccer game, traffic coming in and out was pretty crazy but the inside was nice

I have 3 boys and all of them have used at least one sports service at roots. Every person we have met has been very nice and over the top helpful and pleasant. Highly recommended from our family.
This place provides so many people the opportunity to participate in sports when the weather otherwise prohibits them. My daughter recently began soccer here, and seems like plenty of parking too.

1. Parking lights arent on while games are scheduled for late in the evening and its pitch black in the parking lot. 2. They NEED to train referees properly and schedule them appropriately. A 14 year old should not be a referee if he cant call unsafe plays where players have potential to be injured. This referee stood at half by the side line the entire game and did not call at least 10 unsafe plays in the first 15 minutes.
Great place to go theres baseball and softball cages, soccer fields inside and outside, and football fields outside. It does leak a bit because of the HUGE sunroof
State of the art facility!
I go $10.00 non peak hours free play empty field run around. Not even a soccer player. former d1 baseball. Just cooped up. Deprived athlete syndrom.

Nice facility but pot holes on the road to get there and in the parking lot are killer- drive very slow!! Parking can also be a challenge.

Horrible experience playing coed Soccer here. The referees are awful and the staff and management are worse. Dont waste your time and money here go elsewhere!

It is really hot in side. They need some type of fan to cool it down. I am a coach for the Bombers youth program and all of the kids are complaining about how hot it is and that it is making them really tired.

Love this place, its a top notch facility. A small snack bar, gym, pool. I think there about 6 or 7 fields.
Even when busy the fields and traffic are very well coordinated.
3 of my 5 grandchildren went to their summer camp program for 8 weeks. Staff is incredible. Above and beyond I think. They learned a lot, made new friends and had a blast! They didnt want it to end. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a positive experience for their children.

Excellent,excellent,excellent. ..Both grandsons attend different activities. Oldest for soccer.His coach goes above and beyond to teach these 5 year old boys skills.The 3 year old goes for gymnastics.His coach is good but not as good as the coach the older boy had last year.She seems to focus more on the girls.She does engage well when the girls go off to swimming and he has some 1 on 1 instruction. We enjoy watching our grandchildren and the other children.

One of the best indoor facilities around! Everything is clean and new and enjoyable to play on and watch!
To be honest, I am the proud owner of this facility. Ryan, Jason and Alex do an amazing job every day running the programs and are very passionate about Soccer, LAX and other sports. It is the safest indoor turf facility from Boston to Albany. If you care about your body or your kids and do not want to get normal sports injuries (ankle and knee) you will choose this facility.

Cold freezing cold. The bathrooms were the only warm space. We were there for a tournament. The rules were inconsistent for example the first 2 games the goalies could punt, our 3rd game we were told it was against the rules but opposing goalie kept doing it. The final game neither team was allowed to and according to the parents that was they first time they had been told. Its not important what the rules are as all indoor facilities have their own but at least make them consistent across multiple games in a day.
Fantastic facility. Highly recommended.
