330 River St, Waltham, MA 02453, United States
The place has everything to be perfect, but unfortunately the infestation of uneducated and uncultured immigrants in this country is destroying leisure and the American culture of cleanliness and education. place frequented by strange, dirty people with extremely vulgar swimwear for an environment that was designed for children. Furthermore, there is no presence of police officers to ensure the safety of patrons, whoever comes and goes whenever they want. The structures are excellent but extremely dirty because of the type of people who leave poor countries and want to do the same here.
The pool itself is reasonably taken care of, but the surrounding area is heavily littered. The real highlight is the staff, who have all the charm of prison camp guards, regularly aggressively berating the kids and adults, often over the loudspeaker. Obviously people who could only be employed by the state. Also, can someone explain the 'pool check'? It's 30m where no one swims, nor no one checks anything. New rule! You must swim in the water with your child or they will kick them out. Thank god nanny's looking out for the kids of us incompetent parents, and the lifeguards wont be troubled.
My first experience at the connors memorial pool was very unprofessional. the pool itself, is great, but the bathrooms and lifeguards are not so great. the bathrooms got shut down so no woman could change nor shower. and my 8 year old daughter was a victim of racism by a white male lifeguard. the lifeguard was brunette and had black sunglasses that day. they were very stereotypical and he walked up to my daughter and said ‘no food,” she looks at him and two seconds later, he says “no comida.” and my 8-year-old daughter had to reply, defending herself due to this issue. my daughter had to specifically tell the lifeguard herself that she spoke english and that it was rude to say that. i hope my family and no other family, has to go through this racial issue because it is indeed sad.
There is a life guard that was just plain mean to the kids. Over and over I watched her pick on kids yelling and blowing the whistles for just anything. Seems like they hired just anyone to take the job. Working with children requires patience and some kindness. She seems so miserable at her job. Bathrooms were filthy, as if no attempt to keep up with it. There is mildew on the edges of the pool. Staff gave the impression they simply didn’t care
Convenient and a great shallow and deeper pool for young and older kids.
Clean, easily accessible, free public pool! The water, bathrooms and locker rooms, and pool deck were all clean. The lifeguards were consistently attentive. You can park on the pool property or at a lot a 2 min walk away beyond the basketball courts. No food or drink allowed. There are plenty of benches in the shade where swimmers left their stuff, but you can also bring your own beach chair if you prefer to sit in the sun.
I like it! It does get crowded at times but there is a limit to how many people are allowed in. So if you have to wait it's due to a full capacity. Water checks are done every hour and the lifeguards are very attentive. You don't have to pay to get in so who has the right to complain.
Great pool for the kids. Zero entry at one end with lots of splash toys and 4-5 feet deep at the other for actually swimming. There's a limit on the number of people who can be in the pool area so it's doesn't get too crowded, but you may have to wait in line for people to leave on a busy day.
