Joined the party pickleball league and it is NOT the “party” I was hoping for. When registering, there was a mention of a DJ and bar. We are now over halfway through the season and no bar has been set up. Additionally, sometimes there is a single speaker playing music. But, no DJ in sight controlling it. In fact, the music from one of the business across the street is louder than the speaker that is sometimes set up. Also, the space itself always appears to be under construction in some way. It’s not the atmosphere I was expecting for a league that costs over $150 to play 6 or 7 games if you are lucky. Being a beginner pickleball league, I expected to be given an introduction to the game. But, the very first time we met for the league all that was given was a very brief explanation of the rules. We were still pretty confused going into that first game. I don’t blame the person who gave the introduction, more so there was just not enough time scheduled for a proper walkthrough. Honestly, I was expecting an experience like what is advertised on Volo’s social media and website. I’ve enjoyed the games but the perks of joining a league vs just playing at a local park just aren’t there. In fact, our most recent game was so windy that it made it difficult to even play the game - really should have been rescheduled. Also, I tried to submit this feedback on their app. But, it literally just kept erasing my review. Hoping for a better next couple games but I’m really not impressed.

Scam artists charging for something that used to be free and then giving the same copy-paste response to every negative review. Volo has set a terrible precedent for casual open play by charging exorbitant prices mixed with a subscription model. The space is lazily managed and not taken care of well. Save your time and skip out

They won’t let you in and force you to download their low-rate app even I have their confirmation email saying I already paid and registered. Really upset with keeping getting error when trying to cancel. Will dispute on credit card. Not worthy of the money with such bad attitude toward their customers. Not recommended.

This venue has been such a blast to use the last two years!! It has awesome vibes with great DJs or live performances including a great violinists or bands which always adds to the atmosphere while playing in leagues or pickup games. This venue is really meant for those in Volo with ability to sign up via their app or website. I see a lot of hate about it not being for the public anymore, but this was never really a public space and Volo really transformed the space into something great for a lot of people. Think it’s made the whole area a much more marketable and enjoyable place. With VoloPass it is super fun and has so many options to play some sand volleyball or pickleball. The Downeast bar on site has been an excellent touch since it got added and allows a great mix of socializing and competition. They have awesome Friday socials where it’s open play either for free to all or with Volo pass membership. In general I find myself and many others here at least several times a week in nicer weather. My only wish is that it could be open in the winter somehow cause I miss the good times when it has to close! Can’t wait to see all the future updates to the Club Volo! 🏓🏐🍻

Great place to meet new people who have a similar interest in playing sports! Club Volo offers different sports like pickleball, beach volleyball, bocce ball, and cornhole! I have tried them all and it’s a great time!

Great vibes and great hosts! Can’t forget the downeast pop up to stay hydrated! I learned how to play volleyball and pickleball here while meeting new people I can now call friends! To play unlimited pickups and access to all the free classes and Volo events, I used my friend’s code “TSE10” so the membership is $10.99 a month for the first 3 months. Such a great deal to get me outside now that the weather is getting warmer!

Update: Lowering my rating from 5 stars to the 3 as prices are increasing significantly. A 6 week beach volleyball league costs $156, including a $15 “fee”. The facility is nice, but they removed running water to clean sand off your feet, there’s no drinking water, and the app rarely works properly. Disappointing as it’s in a great location and the leagues are fun. ——————— I’ve had a lot of fun playing beach volleyball here. It’s in a great location that’s easy to get to by car or train, has plenty of parking nearby, and is well-equipped. Staff has been polite/professional. Looking forward to the beer garden!
