We had a great time in this state park. The park was superclean and well-organized. The most important and noticeable thing was the staff's behavior. They were extremely nice, friendly, and polite. We loved them and we greatly appreciate their service.

Great beach, water doesn't get a lot of waves from boats. Clean bathrooms on premises. You cannot bring rafts or toys in the water. There are lifeguards on duty. It costs to park. Beautiful water, beach, views. Worth the drive.

Beautiful swimming! Need a state park pass or day pass to park (costs money). Excellent restroom and picnic facilities. Note: the beach itself is NOT at all shaded - bring sunscreen and an umbrella. Also, there is no cell service in the area, so keep this in mind!

This is a beautiful out of the way State Park. It is rather small so arrive early if you want place on the beach. However there are lots of other spots to set up there are actually places out in the woods and lots of walking trails as well. Bring cash they don't accept cards

Looks like a very nice place to beat the heat in the summertime. It's out in the middle of nowhere. That's the best part. Also the parking lot Trail Heads the balance of the Wildlife Refuge that can be used like any other State Park. On my list to take in when I am close by for some time.

This location has TONS of growing up memories for me and ones that I am proudly passing on to my kids! It can get crowded in peak Summer and parking can be a hassle. So do what everyone does, get their early and stay the whole day. Good clean facilities and awesome mix of locals and travelers. It feels far away from everything and thats what makes it feel so special.

Nice spot. We went to the recreation area and beach. Nice clean facilities, bathroom available. Lifeguard present. We visited and then held a birthday party there a week later. No pavilion available, so we had to bring our own awnings, but that was fine. Several picnic tables and a few grills installed. No floatation toys allowed except for lifevests, which was a little disappointing for the kids. Volleyball court and fishing available. It's a bit of a small area, but nice. Wish there was a pavilion, larger beach, more grills, and more picnic tables.
