C2 Pilates is amazing! I feel very fortunate to have found this studio. Their instructors are highly skilled and super caring. Over the past nine months, I have really developed and reformer Pilates has become a core part of my mindfulness practices.
For the class structure & studio, I would give it 4-5 stars. This 2 star rating is for the instructor, Vania Chan. I want to preface this review by saying that I am still very much a beginner at reformer, and have taken 5 classes at the other C2 studio in Dedham and have always had a positive experience there. Being that I am relatively new, I'm very much happy to get pointers & corrections on my technique. However, my experience with Vania bordered on being singled out and almost embarrassed. When doing leg exercises & correcting me on my form, she made a comment about how my "inner thighs are really weak." Later she corrected me on my tailbone placement & made it known to me that she was using me as a demo because my form was the most incorrect out of everyone else's. Like ok??? I didn't sign up for this to be compared to other people in the class who different levels of experience. Shortly after, she makes a comment to the class saying "some of you have more cushion on your body so it's harder to locate the tailbone." I was shocked. I am a size 6-8, & have a curvier body type. It is NEVER okay in my book to comment on other people's body types, especially in a class like this. She finally stopped when I told her I felt singled out, but the damage was already done. For the rest of the class, she proceeded to make comments about how we "shouldn't feel embarrassed to make mistakes" and how she has "never felt shame" being corrected & was not a natural at Pilates herself. Regardless of her intention, these comments were extremely out of line and went beyond simple constructive corrections. Needless to say, I will not be returning.
I have been a regular at C2 for several years and I am wowed by the instructors all the time. The classes are well planned and creative. I never feel like we do the same routines twice and I go multiple times every week! I am a physical therapist and my standards for instructors are quite high. I have found my Pilates home at C2 and highly recommend trying them!!!
I’ve had a membership for just about a year and I love C2 Body! I take 10 classes per month and I look forward to each one. The instructors are highly trained and skilled in Pilates. Since the classes are small, they are able to watch each client closely and are always there to help with adjustments. The instructors are always welcoming, the members are friendly and the studio is in a historic building that has a nice ambience. The reformers are high quality. Pilates keeps me toned and fit and I’m happy to be a member at C2 Body.
I've had a great experience at C2 Body, going 2x per week for 7 months. My favorite instructors are Eliza and Carolyn, who make me sore in all the right ways every single week. At my annual physical this year I had gained several pounds of muscle, and for the first time in my life (in my mid-40s!) my arms were stronger than my legs. My grip strength has consistently been weak due to 3 prior injuries to my right wrist/arm, and it improved significantly since last year, too. That was all Pilates at C2! Worth every penny.
C2 Pilates is a GEM to the community. I have been going to C2 for over 9 months and I can confidently say it has improved my fitness and mental health. I took "fast track" which included 2 private lessons to introduce me to reformer pilates and have since been attending group classes. All the instructors are so kind, professional, uplifting, and experts in their craft. Laura and Sandra are the best!!
Provided great intro to Pilates for a first-timer; Friendly Instructors teaching smaller sized classes offered me a chance to receive more feedback on form compared to a larger studio. Easy location to drive to, with ample parking.
The Milton studio is great, bright and clean; easy to get to and parking is never an issue. I’ve been taking classes here (Dedham and Milton locations) consistently for well over a year. All the instructors are awesome, knowledgeable, encouraging and offer varied classes, never the same so I always learn something new and get challenged. So happy I’ve found this studio, they make my fitness journey amazing!
