Love the gym here. Newly renovated locker room with spa like ambience. Love the towel service, steam room and sauna.
We love the JCC for our family! Our kids attend the ELC and the price includes a gym membership for my husband and I and weekly swim lessons for our kids while they are at school.
I have not visited the SJCC but I do know your new Director…Sam D! She is a great young lady! She cares, she is open, she is a professional with a warm heart! She will be a wonderful addition to the SJCC Family!!!
I like the gym. But then they started overcharging me. It took me a while to catch because I've got some tough times. When I found it, they refused to refund my $$ but said they would apply to my membership. When I cancelled the membership, they still owed me $470. I have been trying for six months to get this money. They keep promising they're sending it but they never do. I have 21 emails dating back six months. At this point, I have to take them to small claims court, which is one more thing I don't need. But they clearly intend to steal my money if I don't get the courts involved. It does not take six months to process a refund. So, buyer beware. This is, sadly, a dishonest organization, which does not represent the larger JVC. They are clearly ok making everyone look bad.
My son attended a few specialty camps during the summer of '21 & '22. They are not cheap, but my son is worth it. Unfortunately, he became ill and was unable to attend camp. We notified the staff via phone and email that our son could not attend due to illness. They refused to give us credit or our money back. I can't believe they would choose to lose me as a loyal customer due to greed. It does not make much business sense, but I guess raking up the price each year makes up for dumb decisions. Plus, how callous? They care nothing about our child being sick- Money hungry.
Do not sign your children up for their summer camp. I enrolled my son in the JCC specialty summer camp program which is roughly $500/week. He attended the first week of camp, and on Friday presented as ill and had to leave camp early. We covid tested him and he was positive on Saturday. My son contracted covid-19 from the camp as no one within our immediate family had become positive with covid. We informed the camp coordinator Sam Stone immediately after becoming aware and received a doctors note stating he would be unable to attend the following week of camp as he would have to quarantine. We spoke with the camp coordinator and provided him with all documentation needed to align with their refund policy. Based on their policy, we should've been issued a refund as my child did not attend camp for 5 consecutive days and had a doctors note stating he could not attend. Let's not forget the CDC guidelines at that time. The coordinator gave me the run around, failed to respond to emails or phone calls and when he would respond, he would provide short responses with no resolution. After weeks of being blown off, I emailed both the director Amy and camp coordinator Sam. Director, Amy never responded. Camp coordinator Sam eventually responded stating per their policy, I could not be refunded as they don't issue refunds for specialty camps. This was extremely misleading, especially when their policy stated a refund could be issued if a child did not attend camp for 5 consecutive days and had a doctors note in which my child did. I asked if they could reallocate the monies to another program but received no response. After multiple calls and emails, I scheduled an in person meeting with Sam, again requesting that if they are refusing to refund me over my child being unable to attend due to Covid-19, then we would be open to using the money toward next year's camp season or any other programs in order to keep the money within their agency and maintain a positive relationship with the JCC. During a conversation with Sam, he acknowledged that the camp had a covid-19 outbreak, stating over 25 children were positive. I’d like to make mention us parents were never notified of a covid-19 outbreak via email or phone call. Sam was certain a resolution could be made and even gave us a tour of the facility. Weeks had gone by and I hadn't heard from him. I reached out via email and he failed to respond. Typical. At this point, I'm done trying to resolve this. I would strongly discourage any parent from using this camp. JCC is very unprofessional, communication is extremely poor and they will find a way to keep your money regardless of their policy. As a hard working parent, $500 a week is not cheap. I would suggest you spend your money elsewhere.
JCC provides a home away from home where the physical, gym and pool, give a friendly and professional milieu; while the campus and activities provide an inclusive intellectual and community presence which allows for new friendships and understandings of life and values.
I love the JCC. My child attends the Early Learning Center. The teachers and other staff are amazing and show such compassion for the children. I am also a member and enjoy the gym and the group exercise classes! Great place.
