Vantage Health and Rehab of Hampden in Hampden

My mom was at Vantage, she passed in March 2025.You hear a lot of horrible stories concerning Nursing Homes. I won’t lie I was scared but the staff was amazing. The girls in the front entrance remembered our names and always had I kind word about mom. The nursing staff everyone I came in contact with was helpful and understanding. My mom had dementia, and it was a learning experience. but everybody there was helpful up until the very last day when my mom passed, people came in the room from all members staff with concern and empathy. it may not look like an amazing facility, but what it lacks an appearance it has in staff they care and respect that they give every person that they deal with is I hight recommend. But most of all I Thank them for the care of my mom(Cecelia)

I am very disappointed with the staff at this facility. They don’t take the time to actually rehab the individuals. I watched medicine be scooped into my family members mouth although she is completely capable of feeding herself. Residents here need to be pushed to their full potential in order to be rehabbed, not have things done for them to make things easier on the staff. Give these people some dignity, get them up, get them dressed, assist them with basic hygiene. Nobody wants to send their family members to facilities like this, but we should be able to trust that our family members are cared for if necessary.

If I could leave zero stars I would. The staff here is so incompetent and lack any type of empathy. My family member was left in bed for hours on end, was given her meals in bed when was specifically instructed to have her eat in the dining room, the nursing staff lets her sit well into the afternoon without assisting her to brush her teeth, feces has been found in her room, and countless other terrible things. If you can avoid sending a loved one here I would highly advise it. It is so sad that people come here for care and are treated this way.

My mom was at Vantage Hampden for almost 4 weeks after having a series of setbacks following a recent surgery. All I can say is the staff from nursing to rehab to social services were wonderful!! My mom was not an easy patient, but the care, kindness, and compassion she received was excellent. If we as the family had any questions, we were not treated as a bother or quickly dismissed. The staff was attentive and provided the answers and support we needed. We are grateful we picked the right place for her!

Vantage of Hampden is a wonderful nursing home and rehab center. My aunt was there for a month, and they treated her very well. The staff provided outstanding patient care and customer service. Particularly noteworthy was their clear, concise, timely and effective communication with family. I live and care for auntie from FL, but the entire staff was understanding and receptive to all special requests from increasing the room temp, to varying the meal options. The Vantage case worker in a word was AWESOME!! Ms. Nicole Brown Is an Angel!! She is, by far, the most professional, intelligent, thoughtful and caring, administrator I have ever worked with. She contacted me early and often with effective communication, and care options. Nicole tirelessly advocated and coordinated services on our behalf with several medical agencies i.e. Mass Health, United Health Care insurance, Baystate hospital, and numerous home care agencies. Nicole continually updated me with auntie's condition and progress. Andrew, Stephanie, Javon, Maria and Shell were all very helpful and supportive throughout her stay. Thanks to Nicole and team Vantage, auntie returned home, and is doing well! Thanks again Nicole for your support, communication, and genuine concern for my aunt's well being!! My mom (103 yrs.old) had a fall and recently completed a rehabilitation stay of approximately 1 month at Vantage of Hampden. I was extremely impressed with the rehabilitation schedule, goal setting and progress made due in great part to the expertise and patience of the PT and OT staff. Perhaps even more impressive and important was the caring attitude, empathy and genuine kindness exhibited by all staff. This included PT and OT, nursing, daily care specialists, activities coordinators, maintenance, office staff, and reception. My experience with coordinating meetings regarding my mom's progress as well as plans for her return to her assisted living facility (including transportation) were handled smoothly, efficiently and professionally. Just about everyone I encountered exhibited an obvious concern and willingness to help the residents, while patiently completing their duties in very difficult jobs. I am extremely grateful for the care, attention, and kindness my mother received at Vantage as well as the hard work and dedication they demonstrated in helping her return to her A.L.F. Thank you for all you do!!

My dad was recently at Vantage-Hampden for a short rehab after his discharge from a hospital stay - he had the most attentive care given to him! From Nina - the CNA, to PT/OT - Andrew, Chris & Sarah, and every other staff member that cared for my dad, all so accommodating! And when arranging for his stay the Director of Nursing, Rachael, made the transition seamless! The staff at Vantage-Hampden was always asking & listening, being certain to make sure my dad was happy & comfortable while he was a patient at Vantage!

I don’t work there, I didn’t go to visit but went there as a contractor to get an estimate for a job. I stood at a distance and watched how a man was been fed and properly taken care for. I was touched and really realized almost all the staff tending to the other aged were pretty much doing same. The fascility is excellent and had very warm welcome for me and my crew, The safety of those been taken care of is something I will write home about and that’s an A+ for me. They really doing a wonderful job and will recommend to anyone seeking to either work there or take a loved one for good quality care. Yes I agree there could be some bad nuts both the patients and the staff , but in general what I saw with my eyes they really doing a great job
