I give Jacqueline (receptionist) these stars. She is so kind, friendly and courteous. I appreciate anyone who is so delightful to others. Made my day!! Ty

Unfortunately i liked River Valley. We have a good therpist and Jackie and Nancy were very helpful to my son for NOT HAVING his meds filled for over a week. They filled it within 10 minutes while Ellie never did after leaving messages and speakin to her on the phone. Her excuse was i have other patients and i work in the front desk and were short of staff. Ummm Nancy and Jackie took care of it right away. Due to his medical assistant (Ellie) Very rude, disrespectful and NOT HELPFUL AT ALL. My son was without his meds and So much more. Bottom line…. You treat people how you want to be treated.

Absolutely horrible psychiatric care. They don’t listen. It’s hard to get an appointment. As a person who has struggled with both mental health and Substance Abuse Disorder, it was discouraging to feel like a “lower class citizen” when speaking with Dr. Reuben. If a therapist should be anything, they should be a good listener. They don’t listen, they don’t care, they don’t care treat you like a patient.

Just negligent toward trans patients. They deadnamed me constantly because they just couldn't check the field where preferred names are listed. They had the wrong pronouns in my chart the whole time. Not even my pronouns assigned at birth. Just some they stuck me with. I corrected them on everything 100 times and it never changed. River Valley Counseling: As a mental Healthcare center, this is shameful. You should know full well that respecting pronouns and preferred names lowers suicide rates substantially, but your staff can't be bothered? I had to specifically require a trans therapist at a different center to be taken seriously. Shame on you. It's 2023. Act like it.

They make a lot of mistakes and don't take ownership. They require a lot of their patients and make getting help more difficult, but when it's their turn to actually help they just put you on a hell loop of bureaucracy that will break your mind. Good luck if you need meds or have executive function disorders...

Great mental health counseling center. I am very happy with both my psychiatrist and psychologist here. Clean, friendly and professional staff. They accept MA health which is helpful.

Disgusting place with uncompassionate staff members that do not have the best interest of patients at hand. I am a victim of patient abandonment and medical mal-practice. They do not follow proper procedures with closing patients cases. If you miss the amount of appointments that they list in their company policy they will refuse to offer you any further treatment without giving you adeqaute time to find another provider to treat you. In other words, miss "too many appointments" and they will leave you without any way of getting medications that you need, even if they know the consequences of you not getting said medications will put you in danger. It is medical malpractice and I will be taking legal action against this company.

The providers I've dealt with were great (which is the only reason the practice as a whole gets two stars). The office is terrible on communication, though, and makes their clients do their job as far as prescription management and refills (you have to call every month within a specific window of time, or they won't refill your meds/you'll get them late). They don't always send over the proper paperwork to the pharmacy, either. As a result of all this, I've been discharged without notice twice now and have dealt with frequent periods of drug withdrawal. They've essentially been punishing me for having ADHD and severe depression, which my providers are well aware affect my executive functioning (task initiation, consistency, follow-through, frustration tolerance...), and which was why I was coming to them to begin with. They should know how to meet clients with mental health conditions where we're at instead of imposing rigid, one-size-fits-all expectations that don't even guarantee you the result you want, and be familiar with the (sometimes extreme) dangers of going off one's meds cold turkey.
