Hunter is the professional you want to see if you need to change your diet for medical reasons or just want to lose weight and keep it off. I started with him to lower my A1c (was at 7.4) and to lower my cholesterol. He listened to me about my eating habits, and devised a personal meal / eating plan that included all of my favorite foods.. I totally learned what I needed to eat to maintain a healthy lifestyle. This education was priceless!! I lost 23 pounds and waistline inches in just under 6 months. My A1c is now 5.9. A year later I have kept up with what he has taught me. Hunter is very down-to-earth and works with you to reach your goals.

My experience with Hunter has been absolutely incredible! I began working with him in May of 2024, after about 6 months of trying to do a body recomp on my own. While I was making small strides on my own, I fell into a detrimental mental state where I had a terrible relationship with food; I saw it as good vs bad and all I saw was the caloric content of EVERYTHING. This prompted me to reach out to a bunch of dietitians because I knew I was in a rut I couldn't get out of on my own. Hunter was the only dietician within the area that got back to me within a couple hours of me leaving a message. I told him I've always been an athlete, but never really stuck to a workout regimen outside of the season, and how my knee injuries have often allowed me to use it as an excuse. We set up an appointment shortly after that (and he was very accommodating! I was still in school over in Fairfield, so he was very flexible with when I can make the drive up to the office and later on accommodated video conference check ins!). When we first started working together, he took my baseline measurements and asked me what my goals were and helped me specify them. He met me where I was at by asking what my baseline activity levels are specifically and regularly, as well as asking what foods I like or don't like. He never told me "well you can't do that or eat that." He met me where I was at! From there, he developed a macro split for me that would fuel my workouts while still allowing me to lose fat and build muscle. He completely fixed my dizziness problem I would have whenever I lifted (probably because I was under-eating). Since working with him, I'm down 12lb on the scale, 4% body fat based on skin fold measurements, and I significantly slimmer on individual skin fold measurements, all while hitting PRs on all my lifts! Lastly, Hunter has been very knowledgeable beyond just diet. I tweaked my hip and lower back during our time together and he's been as helpful if not more helpful than the physical therapists I've been working with because Hunter himself lifts as well. He understands body mechanics and is insightful when getting back to certain lifts. Hunter has been an essential part of me developing a healthy relationship with food as well as finally feeling comfortable and confident in my skin. I'm beyond grateful and cannot recommend him enough!

For years I have struggled with IBS, microscopic colitis, C-Diff which resulted in a fecal transplant. I tried multiple medications that helped somewhat, but I never had any relief. When I reached out to Hunter Bahre, he recommended the MRT test which showed me the food I was consuming caused inflammation. He customized my diet and finally I found relief! The journey hasn't been easy (I'm a foodie and love my snacks!) but my quality of life has changed significantly. I now eat the foods I love without inflammation. Reaching out to Hunter was one of my best decisions and I recommend him to everyone! Rhonda

Long over due (and sorry for the length folks) -- I knew I wanted to work with a dietitian and had been looking around at a few local options on and off while I debated for a while. I stumbled into Hunter's information on one of those random searches and first contacted him in August 2020 and he was very informative and quick to answer my inquiries. Unfortunately, I had to push back our initial consultation, much longer than I had hoped and we didn't end up meeting until Jan 2021 but still he was very open to meeting. I had trouble finding the location and ended up being late to my appointment but Hunter let me in anyway without having to reschedule. The consultation ran long and didn't even feel like it as we had much to discuss. Truth be told I was weary of working with another dietitian due to a previous poor experience and was very nervous but talking with Hunter is very easy. I never felt judged and my questions were all answered with respect and in a way I understood. I've chosen to adapt to a vegan lifestyle after a few failed attempts over the years (still being vegetarian with eggs and diary though) and was worried about how he might be able to address it (or not) and how to make it work with my desire to be as 'whole food' as possible and begin strength training in a successful manner. (I had been training for about a year but with negative results (in so far as I was losing the muscle I was trying to hard to keep / build) to the point where I had become very discontent with the whole process). Thankfully COVID came along and forced me to step back from the training aspect of the journey for a bit. So I decided to put the focus into the nutrition aspect. Upon our first consultation, I opted into the meal plan package hoping to get the most information I could while working with Hunter. I was not disappointed. His meal plan was very well crafted and detailed. He went over everything and made suggestions / substitutions as needed without issue and answered any questions. His attention to detail is awesome and very much appreciated. I kept in contact with him weekly with my food diary (I hadn't really intended to maintain it but just started it to give him information but he was willing and encouraged it) and he helped me tweak and adjust as I went while offering information, ideas, recipes and feedback. Everything I wanted / needed. Our actual meeting followup sessions were pretty spaced out with my busy schedule and trying to fold back in the training. But it was always great to see him and discuss how the program was going. While the training itself didn't happen as I had hoped, my time with Hunter on the nutrition still ended with very good results that I'm happy with. While I don't remember what the final numbers ended up being, it was around 25lbs and several waist inches lost in a health, productive way. I feel better and happy I got to try a few new things (for example sprouting and sourdough baking!!) with his support and encouragement. I never would have tried them otherwise. There was a slight relapse in late summer/early fall due to work but some big lifestyle changes occurred July / September (in a good way) and I'm happy to say I'm back to the training on a regular basis now that I have more free time. I'm very optimistic and can't wait to see what kind of results I get now with the nutrition in its proper place. It's only been a couple weeks so far but still feeling good about it. I'm already seeing some slight body composition changes. For anyone that might be debating, choose Hunter! You won't be disappointed at all! He is so knowledgeable and helpful, you can't not learn from him. You have to put the effort in of course but you don't have to worry, he matches that effort for + with you. Hunter really does care; I'm not sure he even thinks of what he does as a 'job'. It seems so effortless for him, like he was born for it. He wants you to succeed and he will help you! Truthfully, 5 stars is not enough, which is why Round Two is starting in another month or so and I'm very excited for it!

Working with Hunter on my weight loss was such a positive experience. For the first time, I've been able to sustainably lose weight and to keep it off. Before working with him, I'd lose weight too rapidly and then deal with strong cravings to which I'd ultimately succumb. Hunter worked with me to find the right weight loss rate that worked for me, which has made all the difference. Additionally, Hunter really cared about my overall health, having me maintain and even increase consumption of certain nutrients in my diet to promote overall health while trimming what needed to be trimmed to yield the desired result. I HIGHLY recommend working with Hunter on your weight loss journey.

There's a lot to say about Hunter and Reformed Nutrition. I have known Hunter from the start of his journey to become a Board Certified Dietitian, and he really walks to walk and is passionate about his field of study. Hunter is one of the few people I know that read scientific journals for fun.. Hunter is engrossed in his field and loves to learn and stay at the top of current research. T In my opinion that is what makes Hunter the best in his field. He not only is up to date on the current USDA standards and the conventional ideals but he is even more passionate about traditional foods and using foods as a whole to treat the root issues associated with gastrointestinal issues, etc.. With Hunter you don't have to pick between an alternative quack and the institutionalized robot. Hunter firmly understands the impact and benefits foods have on the body and is able to explain them so it's easy to understand. Hunter is a certified LEAP therapist and can address your food sensitivities VIA a MRT test that most other Dietitian's are not equipped, trained or certified to do. Even if your not suffering from a food sensitivity issue and just want to loose some weight or learn how to eat and cook healthier Hunter is your guy. I'd also be remiss if I didn't mention how personable and compassionate Hunter is a food counselor. he won;t shame you or make you feel bad about your current eating habits, he's there and happy to help you learn more and get healthier. If this review seems excessive its only because Hunter has changed my life when it comes to food, and I'm all the better for it. Thank you Hunter!

I had been struggling with a “mild” Ulcerative Colitis diagnosis since June of 2004 (about 15 years). In addition to seeing GIs (who just wanted to medicate me), I have been searching for the source of my inflammation. I have been on and off many different diets- gluten free, dairy free, specific carbohydrate, juicing, blood type, but none of them seemed to cure me completely. A year ago a friend on Facebook mentioned Hunter Bahre and MRT testing, so I decided to give it a try. The MRT test showed me that things I was consuming almost every day were inflammatory to my system—caffeine, wheat, barley, hops, yeast, certain preservatives and even green beans and zucchini!! Did I kind of know that after my morning coffee things were usually worse. Well yes, but I wasn’t giving that up without some proof (and now I just drink decaf)! So with the test results, Hunter customized a diet plan for me and within 2 weeks I saw huge improvements. With Hunter’s guidance I’m now able to eat a variety of foods without inflammation. He is very knowledgeable with nutrition in general and also helps out with effective natural supplements. If you have IBS or IBD I highly recommend consulting with Hunter Bahre. It was a life changing experience for me.

I had been diagnosed with limited colitis which was not responding to the medications for the last 6 months. My GI doctor had tried several very costly medications, some of which actually made my symptoms worse. When I met with Hunter he recommended I try the LEAP program. It identified foods which I was eating which I was highly reactive to through a blood test. The initial diet is very strict and gradually adds in more foods, however Hunter walked me through each step. He made recommendations for changes to improve my results and was very flexible with my busy schedule. Hunter is incredibly knowledgeable about foods and how they can react in your body. Now, about 8 weeks into the program, I have no symptoms of the colitis!!!! As an added benefit my nasal congestion and allergies have also greatly improved and I have increased energy! I would highly recommend anyone with any digestive issues see Hunter for a consultation. It could change your life!!!
