I have to say that I was a little skeptical that Robin Dufour’s exercise classes could do much to help me heal my terrible knees and painful shoulder. I’d had trouble with my knees since I was in college and just figured I was stuck not ever being able to go up the stairs pain free. Over the past year and a half, I had regular sessions with a PT for knees and shoulders. My PT guy is wonderful, but the pain improved only a little. A dear friend of mine raved about her own progress since she started taking Robin’s classes. She is much stronger than I am. I was surprised by her reaction, because after the first classes, I said to myself: “This stuff is WAY too easy. These classes cannot possible help me.” But I kept on. It was really fun! After just over two months, I was running up three flights of stairs to catch a train and I realized I was actually *bounding* up those stairs. Not only was I completely pain free, but I was not even remotely winded! …I’d been in pretty good cardio shape before, but it didn’t occur to me that having stronger legs would make running up stairs so much easier! (D’oh! 😜😝😜) Also, I am able to sleep on the “bad” shoulder and lift 6-pound weights above my head on both sides, now. I am stunned at how fast my progress has been. Having folks show up at the same time twice a week keeps me honest, too. I am eager to see the faces of the other participants in the group. In between Tuesday and Thursday sessions and over the weekend, I take advantage of Robin’s huge archive of full-length classes and her 10x10 videos, that provide ten moves you can do in ten minutes. As Robin says: “Who doesn’t have ten minutes to devote to exercise?” I love Robin. I love the classes. I love what they do for my endurance, strength, balance. Also, did I mention that these classes are the most affordable synchronous classes I have seen online? These classes are totally worth the investment. I hope you try her out!
M joints, my muscles, my entire body and therefore my mind rejoice in classes with Robin Dufour. When COVID19 struck my Personal Trainer closed her studio in order not to jeopardize her clients' health. I can do it on my own, I thought, and took longer and more frequent walks -- until my body complained with aches and pains. Robin Dufour came to the rescue. Her biweekly exercise classes on Zoom are upbeat, fun, and easy to do in a home that's not set up as a gym. All you need is a pair of weights and a wall to lean on. For the rest, just have your phone, tablet or laptop nearby and a firm ground to stand on. I am looking forward to each session. Her philosophy: everything is connected to everything, makes the exercises feel organic and in synch with what my body is craving for. Yet, my vigorous walking up to three times a day took a toll on my ankle - an old injury that tends to flare up. I first reduced my walking to once a day, then couldn't walk at all any more and was instead limping through the house. In the past, I had tried multiple physical therapies and steroid injections to no avail. Another surgery seemed unavoidable. "Try Robin, she's also a Physical Therapist, " someone in the group advised. I scheduled sessions with her and the miracle happened: Within two weeks I could resume short walks on an even surface and now, after only two months my ankle is more mobile than ever before. In short: I'll stick to my classes with Robin even when one fine day the virus will be history.
These workouts are exactly what I’ve needed! During the mandated closure of Berkshire Fitness due to Covid-19, Robin has adapted her in studio workouts to Zoom workouts allowing me to take advantage of her amazing program. The stretching and strengthening of targeted muscle groups releases the tension that common, everyday activities build up. I feel great after her workouts!
I had a total hip replacement last Spring and Robin helped immensely in my recovery even though we live states apart. Taking advantage of FaceTime virtual coaching sessions, the CoachNow app and countless training videos, Robin worked with me to strengthen my muscles and eradicate my limp that had been learned over time. And when I have other needs pop up through my recovery, Robin continues to assist me and keep my body moving through movement classes via Zoom. Couldn't be happier with Robin's level of knowledge, professionalism and support all the way from the Berkshires. Thank you, Robin.
Thank goodness for Robin and Berkshire Fitness! During this COVID-19 lockdown, their ZOOM workouts have been a simple, supportive and challenging way to get fit, increase my flexibility and feel better! The fact that I live in Maine and can connect to such a thoughtful and informed instructor as Robin (who is all the way in Massachusetts) is so helpful. I’m not someone who feels comfortable in most gyms so this format really works for me! I also have a bad back so Robin’s background in physical therapy allows her to make sure I’m moving in “safe” ways and not putting myself at risk. Thank you, Robin!
The online zoom movement and mobility class has been a great outlet for me to keep moving and stay strong during quarantining. It is great to know that I can have access to the Berkshire Fitness Company even when I am out of state. Robin's classes are clear, easy to follow and she creates a really warm and fun learning environment that sometimes makes me forget I'm not in the room with everyone. I have had a chance to meet people from all over the eastern seaboard and look forward to my classes each T and Th. I highly recommend.
Robin is a gifted teacher, a trainer as well as a very experienced physical therapist. This 45 minute class online worked just as well as in person. It covers all the different muscle groups and makes me feel energized and positive for the rest of the day. Because of these twice weekly classes, I move through my days with a sense of strength, balance and flexibility.
I have been a client at Be Fit Co. for almost 4 years. Simply put, my experience working with Robin has been life-changing.
