Alternatives in Physical Therapy (APT) is dedicated to working one-on-one with you. We use a variety of therapy techniques to treat all major orthopedic dysfunctions, balance deficits, neurologic disorders, chronic pain, and a broad spectrum of other issues.
As much as I searched for a magic wand I couldn’t find one! Marc is a magician with his therapeutic exercises and manipulations on my knee. I will never go anywhere else for PT.
Excellent, highly skilled care tailored to each individual’s needs. Professional, kind, and caring team. Highly recommend!
I am active in cycling, yoga, canoeing and hiking and have been seeing Tom Bianco for many years on an as needed basis to deal with injuries that pop up. I have transitioned to more regular visits for “tune ups” and the results are awesome. The Proactive Manual Therapy and Exercise program provides me with just what I need to manage my fitness and work towards avoiding future injuries.
The staff at Alternatives in PT were so knowledgable, supportive, and compassionate. Our son had an amazing experience working with them on his recovery. Tom and Matthias went far above and beyond to help our son--from providing exercise plans to offering him words of encouragement to donning lacrosse gear to play with him out on the field, their personalize approach was impressive. Additionally, they communicated so well, and we felt like we had this collaborative team supporting our son. We cannot recommend them more highly.
I was welcomed into the practice with a comprehensive evaluation by Mark, and then began work with Matthias to correct lower back pain. I found that Matthias met me in my current state of my body and then slowly and great caring helped me solve the issues of lower back pain. This was a comprehensive approach where he helped me develop a core-strengthening routine (to be done at home) and this routine both met my physical needs as well as my own mental needs (he correctly identified that the patient needs to be onboard with the exercise plan if any exercises would be done). From the start, he shared best-practices for each of the exercises, gave gentle feedback, and also provided video links to watch at home - the videos also showing the correct form, pacing, etc. to maximize the time/energy spent on the exercise plan. Over time, Matthias also showed me exercise progressions meaning I was making progress and would thus benefit from different, perhaps more challenging exercises. This was also a subtle means of encouragement to keep me going, and I definitely appreciated this. We have now progressed to a place where the ownness is on me to continue to do these exercises at home without such frequent in-person guidance. My pain has all but disappeared and I feel much better about my lower back specifically and myself as a whole due to the healthy approach that has been encouraged through my work with Matthias. I am grateful. And a note about the Practice itself. I came to value the space with each visit. I was known on a first name basis to all of the Practitioners there, even though I worked primarily with Matthias, and I certainly appreciated walking in and being greeted by Jen at the Front Desk and then the others at various points of my work during each visit. In a nutshell, this was the ideal place for me to receive care that would ultimately make my lower back condition better.
Mark and Mike are amazing. Mark has helped me so much with my back. I've gone to your traditional physical therapy before but after coming here, I won't be going anywhere else. Here you actually get one on one help, with progress!!
Bad knees, bad hips, bad back, Marc and Mathias know to take care of it all. The older I get the more I rely on them to keep me working and in good order
