The gym is nice, and the pool is ok. Most of the 5 stars is Coach Alex, an amazing swim coach. If you want yo swim better, I recommend him. His full name: Laex Snegour
Overpriced indoor tennis club. I would not recommend this. Plus, in their app you can add cards, but you can not delete. This is such a crap. Their management is the worst.
I was a member for several years, before canceling not too long ago. Renovating slowly throughout that period. No idea if they actually finished since I left. Minimal updates while still a member. The locker rooms were pretty good once the renovation got to them, but the sauna disappeared. Apparently never had plans to fix up the aging pool area. Mostly just came for the pool, which originally had a schedule that worked for me. However, while the somewhat recent reservation system looked great on paper, it was more inconvenient than anything else. 30 mins was never enough, and was hard to schedule a lane sometimes. Staff were generally OK, albeit kinda disengaged sometimes. Went to a yoga class, where the instructor suddenly quit, while the program schedule was not updated right away. As others noted, the owner really did become rather defensive and combative in recent years. Ultimately, membership rates went up, giving a sense of more for less after everything. So, realized it was much better just to walk and hike outside for free.
The facilities are decent, hence the 2 stars. The management is just cheap. They allow you to sign up easily online but require you to come visit and hand-fill an application for cancellation (or send it via registered mail in 2023)! Then once you do that they send another email asking you to fill up another online form! Then on top of that they need a 30 day notice, which really means one additional month of payment after the current month! Gyms and fitness centers do these to offer cheap rates, relying on more people to sign up and making it hard for them to cancel. Yet this place isn't cheap either! Just beware of their cancellation shenanigans, other than that this place is decent.
The manager is recently very aggressive and hostile. So, if your purpose to join a club is to debate with the manager, instead of swimming/exercising, please join it. I have been the member for several year, and they suddenly changed pool reservation policy a few of months ago ----- 1. each member can only swim 30 minutes at most per day. 2. Anyone doesn't show up if booking the pool will be charged $15 every time. The problem is their system keeps making mistake ---- charging you $15 even you have showed up. Plus, when they charged you $15, there is no any email/text notification. If you haven't checked your credit card on their file for a long time, please expect a lot of $15 charge on your credit card. When you complain, the manager keeps changing the explanations, and saying it is your fault even you have proved you did show up. So, please join WestFit "Debate with Manager" club if this is what you want.
For the price the people pay for this gym membership it is not worth it. Staff are rude and unprofessional. Do not reference turn phone calls. The gym is very shady. The manager Sean says that you sign in at midnight to reserve the pool and that's not the case. There is only one lane designated for the handicapped individuals. You sign in at midnight and 80% of the reservations are gone including every single reservation for the six lane only 10% of the world is disabled so one and 10 people and there aren't that many disabled paying for a membership. There is no lift for which most public places federally are supposed to be liable for having a lift for the pool. There are no bars in the showers, nor a handicapped, safe bench. The bench could literally tip over or an individual could fall off of it.Which means it's probably one and 20 at the gym. There are not handicap bathrooms in fact, the swaying cowboy doors are dangerous. There are no bars on the wall. What is the problem when people said that this facility was just remodeled in the locker rooms and there's no handicap bathrooms. There are extremely heavy doors that are dangerous for the disabled to try to push through and there's not enough room in the hallway to account for a wheelchair or a walker.
I really like this place. It's very clean and it has everything. Shawn and the staff are great. If you don't want to be in a gym where it's overcrowded with people taking their tripods out and video taping themselves when you just want to get a set in. Westfit is your place. Check it out.
My membership is canceled without any notification and nobody seems to know why! I am a paying customer for the last five years! I asked why it’s been canceled to understand what happened, yet nobody knows! I only found out when I could not book the pool lanes anymore on my app! The manager told me the only option is to go back there in person and renew my membership! How is it that when everyone else out there trying to get a new customers, WestFit is losing their existing customers and doesn’t seem care..
This lace for swimming class
The pool was dirty with dirt
Great swim class
Awesome
You can never get a swim lane reservation here at the time you want . They have sold the swimming membership to a lot of people and limited swim lane capacity
Amazing and clean sports club. Definitely recommend!
I really like this place. I make use of the pool the most. It is always clean and everyone is very friendly. Prices are reasonable as well.
Not a bad facility. Difficult to schedule pool use. Tried to cancel only to discover you must be there in person with a manager or send a letter. Wont be signing up again next winter.
Clean and well maintained place. Staff is nice and friendly. Overbooked/crowded during popular times.
Worst customer service Ive ever experienced. Totally unprofessional and the worst swim class for kids I could ever describe. Inconsistent staffing, cancelled classes without notice, poor communication... the list goes on.
Great staff and good resources. The place is being renovated but it will definitely worth it in the end.
I have been a member for years recently very aggressive and hostile business practices refusal to cancel my membership, backdating fees during covid sending balances to collections within weeks and without warning I would advise look into other health or tennis clubs- good alternatives in the area
It was great and very clean
Nice place with lot of facilities.. but feels a little congested... But still highly recommended
Great place for tennis. Gym and swim look nice too. Recently renovated locker rooms are pretty clean and unsmelly.
Great gym and pool
This place has been under construction for years now with somehow things deteriorating at an ever faster rate. Old machines, saloon style doors on their toilets, torn carpets. Hey but on the positive side, they replaced lockers and put some tile down in the locker rooms, so theres that.
Dont waste your money here. Terrible place, terrible owners. Disgusting changing areas, the place is infested with mice. The classes are often cancelled with no advanced notice. Machines are often broken. They are so unethical here, its unreal how they are still in business.
Overall happy with the services provided.
Very good gym for a very good price!
I enjoy this non-chain fitness center. There are professionals to help you with whatever your focus is - fitness, swimming, or tennis.
Weird building layout (after a remodel), entrance is at the farthest point from the main parking. We came for an advertised kids tennis exploration/clinic and they werent ready to go/the responsible person wasnt there yet by 15 minutes past the start time - we left at that point.
Fitness room and gym equipment isn t very clean. Not sure members do their part in wiping down equipment when finished. It s ok for $19 a month. Small and basic. Bathrooms are disgusting.
Horrible gym/fitness area. Good of you play tennis
Will the renovation ever be finished?
I loved the gym. My problem is that I went in and cancelled my membership due to an foot injury in November and was told I was all set. December they sent me a bill. I called in December and explained my account was cancelled. They looked it up and told me no problem...Since then I have received a bill in January, and February. I not sure what the issue is, but my account is cancelled.
Trying to get in touch with Westfit to schedule/book swim lessons. Each time I call them during business hours I get the answering machine. I finally get a call back but the man I spoke to said they wont have a schedule out till the end of the week. At the end of the week I keep calling and no one answers and I havent yet got a second call back from the message I left the second time. So frustrating. About to give up and move onto another club.
Its been in the renovation stages for a LONG time and yet nothing looks different!
Gym area needs new weights and basic lifting equipment. Current items are old and not well maintained. On the plus side it is never crowded. Bathrooms are dirty and smell bad nearly all the time...a problem perhaps more related to customers as well.
It does have an indoor pool, but it only has a few lap lanes that can quickly fill up, especially with swim classes. The weight and cardio equipment is dated and not in great shape. The locker rooms are terrible, though supposedly to be updated at some point.
I have been member of Westfit Tennis for 2 years now. Very friendly staff (Seth and others) and love to play here.
Great staff.
You get the best service bruh
Good pool and exercise area, but poor locker room/showers. No towel service. They are undergoing a slow renovation, so hopefully improving in the near future. Great location, and lots of swim and tennis activities for kids.
The pool and tennis courts are in decent shape (could be cleaned more often). The weight/fitness room is okay but out of date with a lot of older equipment showing its age. The employees are generally helpful and positive. On the negative side, the locker rooms are falling apart with only 1 bathroom changing area thats generally moldy and pretty scary. The bathroom needs to be demolished and renovated. The owner has been dragging his feet to update the facility for a number of years. The showers alone are literally held together with electrical tape or shower heads capped off. Only one has hot water. The lockers are cheap particle board. Bottom line is the owner is very cheap and doesnt improve or maintain anything unless hes forced.
Real equipment for people who actually enjoy working out, kettle bells and heavy ropes, : a real pool for stretching out afterwards.
Hey, its not an upperclass social center, its an indoor fitness club: lots of equipment, tennis courts, a big pool, and rates you can afford. If you want a well-decorated luxury establishment, find one if you can and pay luxury rates. If you want a full-service fitness club that wont break the bank, Westford Racquet has what you need. Ive been going there for over ten years and am much the better for it.
I LOVED this gym! Even though I only used the fitness center, Id definitely recommend this club to anyone. The staff is so friendly and willing to help. The womens locker room was always clean, and so was the fitness room! Theres ALWAYS a treadmill, elliptical, and/or bike open for use. I loved their nautilus machines and their weight area. Their TRX setup was great, and there was room in the back to stretch. Bubblers right near the fitness entrance make it easy to hydrate mid/post workout. If I didnt have to move, Id absolutely renew my membership.
I have been going to this gym for over three years now; I love the classes including BodyFlow (formerly Centergy) that is like a yoga class except with an awesome play list and a couple Pilates tracks too, BodyCombat (essentially an amped up kick-boxing class), and Zumba (an awesome dance workout), plus the pool is fabulous. The pool got me through my first pregnancy. You get discount tennis court time, which is great in the winter. I used to use the machines, of which there are enough, but they are nothing special. The best amenities there are the Sauna and the Jacuzzi hot tub ;) These make every trip worth it! From a service stand point, I would say its gotten better. Overall I am satisfied with them, and I feel like with the pool included, the approx. $40/mth we pay is worth it!
We found Westford Racquet and Fitness to be very dishonest and incompetent. Two years ago my wife tried to cancel her membership when she was undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer. She called on several occasions as did several family members. They insisted she go physically to the gym to sign a membership termination paper, which she finally did 18 months ago. We found out last month they had continued charging our credit card, because they misplaced the termination papers. No one in the family has used the facilities during the last two years. Disreputable and dishonest - not much more can be said about them.
A good place to get exercise. Easy parking. Family owned. Metal buildings. Not beautiful or elegant. Only social if you play indoor tennis. Has weight machines, free weights, cardio machines, a basketball hoop, a lap pool (too shallow for diving), a not-very-hot tub. Churn in staff leads to variable quality but mostly good. About monthly something breaks and takes time to fix. A more multi-national and multi-color membership than I have seen elsewhere. Large representation of high tech. Mix of genders. Lots of allowance for the elderly, the injured, and the unfit. Children only swim, play tennis or basketball. The water aerobics is excellent for people who had not been exercising before. Weight room has subtitled flat screen T.V.s showing usually news or sports (bring your own earphones), 2 channels at a time, and oldies XM music. A constantly chainging selection of classes has loud music and yelling trainers, with various weights, step platforms, stationary bikes, and other themes. Your health insurance may give you a discount. Make sure to ask when you join. Mens and womens locker rooms have showers, toilets, and saunas.
