Katie Lee is a gem. She is an attentive clinician, passionate about her craft, and extremely knowledgeable. She takes the time to really think through your issues and come up with a solution. I would highly recommend Groundwork PT!
I can’t say enough good things about Katie! After struggling with mid-foot pain for a few months and seeing several sports doctors (along with multiple rounds of imaging), I was referred to her for physical therapy, even without a clear diagnosis. From our very first session, it was evident that Katie is incredibly knowledgeable in her field. One of the standout aspects of my experience with Katie is that each session is focused on 1:1 development, allowing for more personalized and effective treatment. She took the time to understand my specific issues and tailored a program focused on strengthening the right muscles for my recovery. I really appreciated her support in finding a schedule that allowed me to concentrate on key exercises at home. Each session was productive and encouraging, ensuring I was getting the most out of my visits. Unlike other PTs I’ve worked with, Katie emphasizes making each session highly effective and maintains open communication between sessions to keep me on the right track. I’m already feeling better and more confident about getting back to running long distances. If you’re looking for a skilled and dedicated PT, I highly recommend Katie! Thank you for all your help!
Katie is an amazing physical therapist. She is attentive and calming and effective in the therapy techniques she applies. I refer all of my foundation’s marathon runners to her because I know she will get them in the best shape for the race!
Katie Lee is an outstanding physical therapist. I found Katie after struggling for two years with persistent lateral foot pain that developed without any obvious injury, and stumped a long list of doctors and PTs. The pain had stopped me, an active 27 year old, from playing sports, hiking, or even walking for an extended period. After working with Katie, I am not only able to go backpacking again without pain, but I have gained a deeper understanding of the mechanics of walking and a whole range of strategies to deal with any issue that may arise. What differentiates Katie from other PTs I have seen is the following: she took the time to study my (long) history of diagnoses and treatments and actually wanted to understand what others before her had thought and tried (rare, right?). She also wanted to hear everything about my experience of the pain and of the various treatments. She was detail-oriented and methodical in her diagnostic process, always encouraging specific feedback and trying to nail down exactly what I felt, even when it was sometimes ambiguous. Because of this, she was able to figure out the cause of the pain and develop a treatment plan that worked. I can't stress enough how attentive Katie has been to me as an individual patient throughout the process. She remembers the details and constantly works to adjust the treatment based on progress. I would highly recommend Katie, especially to anyone struggling with an unusual issue.
Katie is an exceptional PT who helped me immensely. I had painful sciatica last spring, did PT for 3 months at another PT place, and saw a chiropractor multiple times. My pain improved but I didn’t feel like I had made as much progress as I had hoped by this fall. Katie was recommended to me by a friend and I’m so glad I started working with her. Katie listens deeply to you and is incredibly knowledgeable. She spends an entire hour with you, makes you feel so comfortable, and creates an effective, tailored plan to address your concerns. A combination of needling and various exercises has dramatically improved my overall comfort and strength in just 6 weeks. I also learned a lot about footwear and what would be better choices for me. I highly recommend Katie to anyone!
What I thought was plantar fasciitis, wound up being a tear in my plantar fascia (thanks for the recommendation to Sports Medicine Katie). I have been fortunate to work with Katie for the last 6 months to help heal the foot and other gait issue. Not only is Katie knowledgeable, but she will push you to do new exercises that HELP even if they seem a bit out of your comfort zone. She is always positive and I enjoy working with her weekly.
Katie is knowledgeable and thoughtful, and her insights, manual work, and the exercises she has prescribed have helped to increase my mobility and reduce the pain from a traumatic bone break three years ago. When I needed help motivating myself to exercise at home, she created a special video for me to guide me through the exercises. She also offered to talk to my personal trainer so that my workouts at the gym build on — rather than work against — my physical therapy exercises. Her focus on her patients is exceptional and I am so glad to have had her help over the last year.
I had the most positive experience with Dr. Katie Lee. Her sessions were the perfect balance of PT exercises, manual treatment on my ankle/foot, and conversations about foot mechanics and the root of my pain. Katie was incredibly personable, sharing about her own life and remembering details about mine. She was also very responsive to any questions I had between appointments. After three sessions, my pain minimized and I had all the information I needed to continue to manage it on my own. Katie is truly raising the bar for all physical therapists.
