Men's locker rooms are disgusting, dirty, and badly need renovations
I called this place March 4th, at 2pm to join a clinic in the evening. I am an advanced player looking to get back into playing form and possibly join a club. I was summerly dismissed and the woman that I spoke with cut me off and said I could not join the class because I was not a member. When I said I was looking to possibly join she still hung up on me saying that I was not a member. I am happy that this club is set with their membership and doesn’t need any new blood. Kudos! For anyone else looking to join, seek another place. This is not a welcoming place.
Great family club with an amazing range of activities for a very reasonable price. Wonderful people, kind service and everyone is down to earth.
I will rate this health club as a 3 because I like Longfellow, the club itself, however you all must beware of something. I have been a member there since I was 15 years of age under my parents family membership, and I'm now in my late 30's. I don't go there often, However I was told abruptly by the health club owner yesterday that I have been taken off of the family membership and need to get my own membership because I am over the age of 23, and something to do with households. I am JUST NOW being told this information when am in my late 30's. This happened randomly because of a special needs person I happen to know left a few cups OUTSIDE of their health club(I wasn't there that day/days), so he/they decided to take this out on me. The owner claimed I have been getting a free ride this entire time since the age of 23, when I never knew of any policy they had and again, just now being told this info. My parents are investors of his health club, and as far as I was told or knew, that includes a family membership. I am their daughter. Doesn't matter my age. I don't mind getting my own membership-however they shouldn't be taking out what a special needs individual did that I just happen to know-out on me. Remind you, I barely go to the health club anyways, only to spend time with family around the pool. EVERY other family that owns a membership at that club and invests, at least now you know the rule, and won't be surprised like I was. Every family membership at that health club should also be looked into to verify the owner isn't discriminating against me or my family. Thank you.
It's good for what you get - however, they don't have a family locker room/changing room, so you'll often see mothers bring their boys who are older than 4 years old in to the women's locker room. Makes it hard to relax in the sauna or steam room. With that said, the gym is catered towards kids/families rather than the average gym goer.
I am really confused with this sport club. It is located in a wealthy town and they charge $100 a month for membership and based on that you expecting a certain level of service. At least you expect this place to be clean. However that is not the experience I had. I came at 2 pm and a first thing I run into is a bag full of trash in the middle of locker room. Between shower, sauna and clothes change I've spent 30 min there and trash was there for all the time. Next surprise was in steam room where I run into a dirt and a dead bug in the middle of the room. Showers were also extremely dirty and faucets barely sprinkle any water. I don't think I would ever go back to that club and would not recommend it to anyone else who values sanitary norms and hopes to get money/service ratio
We have enjoyed family membership at the Longfellow Club in Wayland for more than 35 years. The facilities are of highest quality, the programs are comprehensive and the Staff is highly professional. As a young family, the Club featured programing to suit our children, as well as ourselves, as young adults. As seniors now, we find Longfellow essential to our health maintenance going forward. It is simply the best!
Facilities, staff, pool, locker rooms all very good. Locker rooms clean, spacious. Sauna and steam room are very relaxing. Staff is uniformly kind and knowledgeable, and they pulled through the pandemic with cheer and goodwill. Plenty of pool hours (lanes and watercize areas), and more in-water and dry-land classes than one person could ever take. Plenty of cardio equipment. I could go on.
