Fabulous park! Well maintained, a lot to do and a lot to see. This park is only 7 mins away from me and it's an absolute gem in my beautiful city of Springfield.

Lovely trails to walk, a rose garden, historic buildings, and events during the summer. Has a wonderful family friendly zoo, fishing areas, and several nature watching spots. Throughout the park you can find gazebos and picnic table areas along with BBQ pits, playgrounds along with a public pool open during the summer. It is pet friendly-on leash required-and many people are seen walking their dogs with waste bins for doggy bags. I've seen many native species including a herd of white tailed deer, barred owls, geese and ducks, herons, kingfishers, and foxes.

This Victorian style park has it all: rambling brooks, walking paths, an outdoor ampitheater, playgrounds, a petting zoo, dinosaur tracks, wooden bridges, a ballfield, rose gardens and picnic areas. There's also a bird path, wild deer and turkey, and an ice rink and swimming pool, in season. One of the most beautiful parks on the East Coast. If you are driving through the northeast, this park is right off route 91. You can pay to drive in, or park right outside at the Pickenelli Baseball Field and walk in for free. Recommended for couples, families, and young ones.

What a beautiful Park! I love how big it is you can get lost in Forest Park. Yet it's so close to home. The trees are massive. Beautiful for a walk run or bring your bike for a ride. Lots of ponds and birds singing around you. The park features lots of up hills and down hills. There are many amenities like tennis courts, basketball court, baseball field, zoo, and playgrounds

Nice park. Fun things to do, like the zoo. You do have to pay to get in, and also, the zoo is extra.

4.20.22 This is a very big park with many walking paths, things to see and do besides the amazing Zoo that's on the premises. $5 entrance fee per car for out of state folks. Check with your library for discounts or free passes to the Zoo. As for the park in "April" we walked around after visiting the zoo 1st. And the kids loved exploring.

Always a great experience! Leaving my Grandsons night baseball game at Picknelly Field under the lights I was riding my bicycle up by Barney Hill and saw about ten deer grazing by the side of the road. It was great, they were checking me out without a care in the world! This wasn't the first time either. Many times I would run through the Park in the evenings and see them often.
