Went golfing on a rainy day went to get my ball on the cart and it spun out they freaked out and told me and my freinds there not afraid to ruin my life

The worst golf course you d ever play. Couple their back breaking cart paths with the hillbillies that run the place and you have the perfect recipe for one of the most classes golf courses in all of western mass.

Great course, Great course! These guys can grow grass off the hood of a car. Fairways are pristine, greens run slick and true, and the rough is well manicured. Worth every dime to play this course.

I played this course last year with a friend of mine and by hole 12 we both decided to leave due to pace of play being extremely slow. I m a fairly low handicapper ranging between 8 to 12 and he about a standard 12-15. We both play often and were deflated by how long we had to wait between holes compared to other courses - sometimes standing on the tee box for a good 10 minutes. The course condition was fine with greens and fairways mowed appropriately but that was all outweighed by the fact we had a continuously wait between shots, which then threw off any sort of rhythm we had, and made the round drag on for what felt like years. One other point of contention that we had was that this course is cash only. As a younger guy only being in my mid 20s, I can tell you that nobody our age uses cash anymore. There should always be a paperless option at every golf course as far as I m concerned and even better if online booking is available. My biggest take away is that if this course would have someone go out and serve as a Ranger to speed up pace of play, consumer satisfaction would vastly improve.

17 years I have been holding a golf outing at Southampton. Tommy and Jimmy do a great job and alway take good care my group. The course is always in good shape.

This place is horrible to have a scramble!! You pay good money at this place and they push you around like your a no body!!! How Can you rush on a best ball? This place I ll never come back to or will play on this course again! This is how places lose business!

Id give zero stars if I could. Course is in good shape but think after John passed away they put a bunch of circus clowns running the course. Terrible service and harassing you while you are playing.

Great course we had a great time

Had a great day of golf with some college friends. It was great until the dreaded rain hit.

The fairways are lush, greens are in good shape with the exception of a few that are bumpy , due to other golfers not replacing or fixing their ball marks. They should watch the players,i got stuck behind two 5 somes on a Saturday. One drawback is that everything is cash only

Hands down the best golf course in western MA. Needless to say the cart paths need work. However over the last 2 years they have started patching the worst part of the paths. The greens are absolutely phenomenal the fairway is absolutely phenomenal. I would not recommend walking If you do make sure you bring lots of water youre going to need it they dont have any on course. Good luck on the 9th Let the big dog eat!

Unfortunately I had a very terrible experience with the staff today. I let them know that I was only able to play 15 holes due to landscapers being on the course but instead of giving me any money back they said that they would have to call the bosses that I would need to wait and they had a very poor attitude the clerk was basically yelling at me. I asked her if she was mad at me or something and she said she had a lot going on. Terrible customer experience for me. I gave them two stars because it s such a beautiful course. They could put some money into the cart paths because there really terrible. I will never go back

Cart paths were crazy. Imagine if the carts went normal cart speed not half normal speed? Everything else was very good. Fairways, boxes, greens...all very good. Prices decent too. Id definitely play again. Watch out for #11.

Great course. Always in excellent condition

The positive: the course itself was pretty Negative: The staffing very disturbingly rude; from the moment we received our golf cart keys to when we left the staff was nothing short of disrespect. During the course, a man even came by to say we were taking too long when in fact we were behind the golfers that were ahead of us. A man had verbally screamed assaulting us when we accidentally went on the outskirts of the green as the course has a large drop hill and I was trying to swerve as far away as I could from the green without falling into the sandpit. Also the course was not marked off well to go to the next course. I will not be golfing here again unless it is under new management.

Not beginner-friendly. Not female-friendly. Not family-friendly. The staff was rude and unprofessional. I will never go back again. Backstory: My 3 sisters and I (ranging 25-30 - were not children) took our dad out (9 holes) for Fathers Day. Our dad golfs regularly, one sister has golfed before, and it was the first time for us other 2. My sister goes in to pay and they give her a side-eye and feel the need to tell her that well need to keep up the pace and not hold up everyone behind us. Were having a relaxing and good time. We were keeping a good pace playing best-ball and watching those behind us to make sure we werent getting a big line. Nonetheless, someone came out in a cart to tell us to hurry up halfway through, even though we were keeping up with the people in front of us. This stressed us out and it no longer was a relaxing day out with dad. We felt forced to skip a hole and then we ended up having to wait for the people in front of us.... because, as I said, we were keeping up with them pretty well. At the 9th hole, one of us barely drove onto the green, which I understand is a big no-no. A guy comes up to us (with unkept hair and beard, baggy cargo pants, and a messy t-shirt) all-out yelling at us. We were confused because we didnt know he worked there due to how unprofessional he looked and was acting. I get it, we did something wrong - but it was already done, and yelling at us isnt going to change that. Absolutely unacceptable. I will never go back.

Great course, beautiful views.

We are Connecticut Correctional Officers, and we held all of our tournaments and outings here at Southampton CC. The brothers and their staff are professional and always treat us like members. The course is beautiful, tee boxes and fairways are always manicured, and the greens are plush and incredibly nice to hit too, and putt on. We are always treated like family there, and we consider SCC, as our Home Course. We believe Southampton is one of the nicest courses in Western Mass, and highly recommend it! Not to mention it s a great price, and a great day @SCC!!

Good course in good condition. The cart paths frequently feel more like youre off-roading and a lot of the carts are old. Still a great place to play. Cash only though.

The course is in excellent shape, especially for this time of year. Currently, the pin placements are horrible, but theyll be moved as the season goes, great course for the money.

Pace of play was insanely slow. The cart paths are very treacherous, and the cart itself could barely make it up the hills.

The greenskeepers/ property maintenance staff are incredibly rude, and careless. There was an older man who seemed to be the boss who was drinking beers while his crew worked. You could smell the alcohol on him as he forced us to skip a hole. Not a nice experience.

The fairways and the greens you would expect to find on the PGA. The care taken into making sure this course is pristine. Great golf prices also. A must play course!

Cash only! Very inconvenient. But the course is reasonably challenging and well-maintained, even though the cart paths are a mess! Best to travel on the grass for a smoother ride.

Beautiful coarse love playing there

I did not get to play because they did not rent clubs. Looking out at the course it looked very nice. Others I talked to said it was the best public course around.

While there are some negatives here such as bad cart paths, cash only, and not alot of signs or drinking water along the way. There are 2 major positives that make up for it all. 1. The price ($38 with cart during the week) and 2. It probably has the nicest and greenest fairways you will find on a public course in Western Mass. Its well worth it.

This course makes improvements every year. If you havent played it in awhile, you will quickly notice the difference. Well maintained, with a great layout.

Cart paths could use work and better signage to the next Tee Box. Great course and the conditions have always been top notch. Clubhouse is beautiful, food is good. Worth returning to. 8/5/19 Update. Cart paths have had a little repair, in some places, but still the black eye in an otherwise perfect course. Arrows pointing to the next Tee box would be helpful for us occasional visitors. The fairways are like none anywhere. The most beautiful Ive ever seen. The greens are in great shape with surprising undulations protecting the cup. Food on a Monday terrible! Hot Dog seemed the best choice. Sub-par quality served in a plastic basket, coke served in flimsy plastic cup. BUT! The Golf course is a gem! Worth putting up with the other minor problems. Prices are great also. Oh, CASH ONLY! Onsite ATM.

Been golfing here for many years. The course is always in fantastic shape. The staff are very friendly. Very nice clubhouse. Very reasonable rates for such a beatifully kept course.

Safari outing. The course was in excellent condition. Our carts were all ready.There wasnt any water stations on the course. There was a vending machine with sods on the 16th. The golf cart path was a bit much. It beat you to death. The greens were slow, left every put 6 short. When I hit it harder it still was 3 short. Other then that it was a grate day.

Played here on 8/8 with the Safari Club. Course was in excellent condition. Excellent fairway conditions -- one of the best weve seen all year. Greens and tee boxes were also in very good shape. Pace of play was very good, Very enjoyable day and would definitely play again.

Best course in the area, nicely groomed, friendly staff

This is the nicest public golf course I have ever played. You can putt from the fairways no matter how dry the weather has been, they are that nicely maintained. Its moderately difficult. The greens are always in excellent condition. The price is very reasonable. Im a senior and its $28 for 18 with a cart. I love playing there and you will too. You can never fault the course if you dont play well.

I played Southampton CC with the Safari Club yesterday and it was in fantastic shape ( greens, fairways, bunkers and tee boxes). They have good food there as well. I will be back there soon.

Amazing condition. Excellent value for under $40. Probably the best conditions of anywhere in the state. Easily the best conditions of any course Ive played on this year. (have not played Ranch or Crumpin Fox yet). Lush, perfect fairways. PGA style divots are able to be made. Amazing, fast greens. First cut is great and very forgivable. Tee boxes in beautiful shape. Played there with a friend who had recently played Ranch and said that outside of bunkers, the quality is very similar to highly rated Ranch Golf Club. Course really makes you use every club in the bag. Lot of variety. Tough back nine. Some easy holes throughout, but still enough of a challenge for me. I would recommend this course to anyone on the area who has not played it yet. Truly a gem in Western MA. Surprised they dont advertise more, but they probably dont intentionally.

Had a safari event on the 9th of August and found the course to be in immaculate condition especially the fairways..challenging golf with the large greens

I played Southampton this week with the Safari Club and the course was in great shape. The fairway were among the best we have played this year. I would of liked to have a few water stations on the course and cart paths were in need of some work . But a grate course to play.

Always a great place to play. Fairways and Greens always top notch. Tight course bring your a game.

Safari Golf Club event on 8/9 100 plus players. Staff was very friendly , the course was in great shape and had the BEST fairways and Greens We have seen in a while. Great layout but the cart paths need some work. Overall this place is in the HIDDEN JEM class for sure !!!

Played recently and was impressed with the condition of the course. Except for the extremely slow foursome in front of us, it was an enjoyable experience. Hole #11 is a hole that could use a redesign; be prepared to play many sidehill lies on this tough but fair golf course.

Its me and my buddys favorite course around are area there is cheaper and were rookies so we dont go alot but there nice well kept course and its tougher the best course said by other golfers is wycoff and its very underkept for the price you will enjoy the experience here
