Club Pilates Assembly Row is a boutique Pilates studio specializing in reformer fusion classes for anyone, at any age or fitness level. Pure to Joseph Pilates’ original Reformer-based Contrology Method, but modernized with group practice and expanded state-of-the-art equipment, Club Pilates offers high-quality, life-changing training at a surprisingly affordable price.
I started at Club Pilates 3 months ago and my experience has been very positive so far! I can feel myself getting stronger and more toned. I highly recommend Angela as an instructor - she kicks my ass every time (in the best way possible!) She gives clear instructions, varies the workouts every week, gives individualized help with your form, and motivates you to keep going while keeping the vibes light and fun. You do have to be somewhat strategic when booking classes off the app since they fill up quick, but even when I've been 7th on the waitlist I've been pulled into the class. I always go about my day assuming I'll be pulled into every class I'm waitlisted, that way there's no surprises. Overall would definitely recommend if you're looking for a fun way to get in shape :)
I’ve been to several Pilates studios but club Pilates by far has the best team. Instructor Victoria L is just lovely, she pays close attention to ur workouts, gives instructions clearly and corrects you if you get lost. beginner friendly too!!
I did a trial class to start at Club Pilates, and was sold immediately. The class sizes allow for 1-on-1 attention when necessary, the classes feel inclusive for people of all experience, and mobility levels. The instructors help you feel empowered to keep going for “just 1 more”, and the variety of class types, and times allow me to fit everything I want into my schedule!
I just started with their level 1. Agree the booking policy is laughable but overall I am able to get classes. HOWEVER, this is not the place to go for a beginner no matter how much you see the phrase “all levels.” If some instructors are trying to kill you while others are meh about teaching and can hardly be bothered to show you the moves they’re telling you to do, neither is an intro level. So now you see how a poor booking system becomes a problem. If I knew an instructor was great, who knows if I’d be able to get into the class. Will I enjoy any of these classes? We’ll see. I was lulled into a false sense of security with my intro and now stuck with whatever might be available. At the very least my stiff back always feels stretched out afterwards so there is some value to it. Clearly the (expensive) unlimited membership is the way to go if you know what you need, but I just want to work on a reformer by myself at this point. Actually, it’s strange they don’t offer an open gym session.
Today, I experienced a deeply unpleasant incident at the Somerville location of Club Pilates. I am a physiotherapist with over 10 years of experience, holding two master’s degrees in health and sports nutrition, and I am 6 months pregnant with medical clearance to practice pilates. This clearance was previously requested by the studio, which I provided, and I had already attended two Level 1.5 classes at this location within the last week without any issues. However, today I was denied entry to a class because the instructor stated she "did not feel comfortable" teaching a pregnant woman. This reasoning lacks any professional basis and reflects a concerning lack of training. This treatment not only made me feel discriminated against as a Latina woman, but it was also a frustrating and unfair experience—especially as a loyal client of the Lynnfield location, where I have never encountered similar problems. Exercising during pregnancy is safe and highly beneficial under proper supervision, and the attitude at Somerville completely contradicts the values your company should uphold. I do not recommend this location to pregnant women or individuals from diverse communities. I hope measures are taken to prevent anyone else from experiencing what I went through today.
Club Pilates Assembly Row is amazing. This is the first Pilates studio I have taken classes at, and it has been incredible. The instructors are great, and very patient with newcomers like me. I'm glad I discovered such a fantastic studio!
The teachers are nice, and it’s great having a studio so close to home. However there’s definitely some inconsistencies in how they follow their policies. I arrived 6 minutes late today (absolutely my fault, which I will own up to - but I called twice & texted the studio number) but because I was just past the 5 minute policy there was no exception and I lost my class credit. For their unlimited members though, I’ve seen women enter class within the 10-12 minute late range with no question. So there’s unfortunately a big inequity if you have the 4 or 8 class a month membership, vs. the unlimited. So just know that in signing up, you will be treated based on the membership you select.
Absolutely outstanding experience! This Pilates studio is a true gem. The instructors are incredibly knowledgeable, supportive, and passionate about what they do. Each class is well-structured, providing a perfect balance of challenge and support, making it suitable for all levels. The studio itself is clean, welcoming, and equipped with top-notch equipment. Since joining, I've noticed significant improvements in my strength, flexibility, and overall well-being. I can't recommend this place enough. If you're looking to transform your fitness routine and achieve great results, this is the place to be!
