Therapist and Educator specializing in working with children who have experienced neurodevelopmental trauma and youth / adult clients who identify as LGBTQ+ and BIPOC. Mentor level training in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics developed by Dr. Bruce Perry.
Adoption Journeys has referred many people to Stephen Bradley LICSW for assessments using the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT). Many of our adoptive parents report that this is a model that has been useful for their children, many of whom have experienced early trauma. Stephen brings his vast experience as a social worker, previous director of residential treatment program, and a NMT clinician to all his work. We appreciate his expertise in creating meaningful, thorough assessments with practical recommendations for healing children's brains and behavior, and his fierce support for parents. Parents have appreciated his skills as an ally and teacher on their teams of professional providers, and as a capable advocate for clients from marginalized populations.
Stephen is a rare kind of therapist, and -- as the third that I tried -- clearly had a different level of engagement to offer, as well as an expertise that I only appreciated more as time went on. He brings his uncommonly genuine care, dedication to being there with you, and clinical astuteness to every minute of every session.
Mr. Bradley is an amazing clinician. He is able to work effectively with diverse populations and understands the needs of his clients. His leadership skills enable others to follow his lead with diligence. I would recommend him and his skill set without any hesitation for you and your family's clinical needs.
Stephen is a wonderful professor, and I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to learn from him during my time at Smith College School for Social Work. He is compassionate, knowledgeable (especially in regard to the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics), and demonstrates a deep respect for all clients — a value he emphasizes in his teaching. Highly recommend!
I have known Stephen since he was my student 16 years ago. He now teaches practice and family therapy courses in my program. I admire his dedication, breadth of theoretical understanding, depth of clinical knowledge and experience, awareness of social and cultural issues and commitment to helping clients. He is not only an excellent therapist but has taught and trained many students who have gone on to be strong clinical practitioners.
Stephen Bradley is a much respected and admired therapist, with a specialty in family and couples therapy. I'm the Director at Northampton Sex Therapy Associates, LLC and we have referred many clients to Stephen's practice over the last couple of years and they all speak highly of him and his effectiveness as a clinician. I cannot recommend him highly enough!
Stephen is one of my trusted colleagues in the Northampton area. He is a family systems and couples therapist that I would, and do, send anyone that I can to see. He is an incredible source of peer supervision and an amazing clinician. -Shannon Sennott, LICSW
Very few things in life can rival the pain that we feel when we face difficulties in the relationships with those we love most, and in particular, when we witness our children hurting as they struggle to navigate hard emotions or difficult life circumstances. Stephen Bradley is the go-to person if your child and family are in need of support. His strength-based approach and solid knowledge of the leading evidence-informed models in the field of child and family therapy make him by far, one of the most skilled, compassionate and talented family therapists in the Pioneer Valley and New England. He is that rare therapist who is simultaneously sharp and sensitive, seasoned and acts from a place of utmost integrity. I can give no higher recommendation to anyone. I refer clients to him without hesitation and only wish there were more professionals in the region of his caliber.
