I was in the area from NYC. Everyone was very welcoming and it was a blast having a chance to play with the crew there! Thank you for opening your doors! See you guys really soon!

Been coming here more than two years. Started capoeira in San Francisco, where there were a lot of high level players, energetic and large rodas, lots of energy and axe. This is smaller (but growing). There is a lot more space to learn and develop, in this group. Both in terms of musical practice and the level of attention available (by the instructor or other players) to physical movements, capoeira philosophies, etc. It is more intimate, but at the same time I can still sink into the back if that's how I'm feeling. One possible downside is that classes are not as rigorous, nor will your movements be 'corrected' as often, by as many people. But man are they rigorous sometimes! And your questions (about movements or anything else) always get a thorough and detailed (and demonstrated) response. You just have to ask! All the members at Gunga do Vale are friendly, good, and intelligent people, and have become like a second family since I've been here. The studio is in the same complex as Grey Matter books, near Route 9 in Hadley. It's a good location -- windows, skylights, heating, nice hardwood floors, free parking spaces, wall space to do handstands against.

I was visiting Western MA and stopped by Gunga do Vale for a couple classes -- it was a great experience! Bruno is a really good teacher and everyone in the group was super friendly and welcoming. And the music was superb. Highly recommended.

An awesome martial art blending music, acrobatics and fluid movement. Instructor is respectful and knowledgeable and the group welcomed me with open arms!
