Crystal Lake Beach in Newton

Nice but very crowded in hot summer weather.

Nice clean beach with all amenities!

Not FREE, lifeguards on duty. Great place. They separated the beach for babies, kids and for toddlers. Adults can swim of course.

I’ve been coming to the lake for years and now there are lifeguards telling us that if we’re not 18 or older we can’t swim, and they started charging people 30$+ if there not residents when before it didn’t even matter. It was such a bad experience to come.

This is more a strip of land across from the pay to enter town beach. 10 foot by 200 foot patch of grass and dirt with a few benches and a side walk bordering the water with a single set of stone stairs down the shallows. The shallows heat up pretty nicely in the summer and offer a decent place for public swimming.

Thought about it looked wicked cool. Then seen the prices for non residents in the middle of a almost two week heat wave and became very disappointed. 15 a person to swim? No thanks it’s not all that nice. Rather go to a water park if I have to pay $90 for me & my family to get cooled off.. where the water holes at?? Hahaha

Nice local swim spot no lifeguard or facilities so keep that in mind.

A scenic lake in Newton, MA. Lots of beach activity. Plenty of green space in attached park.
