My husband & I got married at the Montague Retreat Center last October (2023) and it was truly the best day of our lives. Not only is the venue itself absolutely beautiful, but the staff that works there are so extremely helpful & professional. Leading up to the wedding, I called Jason constantly and was able to discuss everything from the rehearsal to the big day. I never once felt like I was a bother & continually felt supported throughout the whole experience. I could not recommend this place (or the amazing staff) enough. We are so very grateful for them!
I've been photographing weddings here for the last ten years or so and I absolutely love it. Feels like an oasis in the woods. The hilltop ceremony site is just incredible and a really unique feature that you won't find elsewhere. It's not far away from Northampton or Greenfield, yet far enough away to be very quiet, even when you're up on the hill during the ceremony, which is great for an outdoor venue. Each couple seems to bring there own personal touch to their weddings at this venue, which is also unique and I think that is why weddings here don't feel cookie cutter. Highly recommended!
Where do I start...from the beginning we knew that MRC was going to be our wedding venue. We first met Jackie and Kellsey at a spring tasting event, where we were able to see them and their exclusive caterer, Wheelhouse, in action. The location is absolutely beautiful, the indoor/outdoor areas are a major plus to have variety on your wedding day, and really we barely added to what's already there in terms of decor because it did not need anything additional. Our wedding day went so smoothly and they even went out of their way the night before/morning of to move a semi-fixed birch arbor so that our own arbor could be put out for our ceremony. This was such an amazing service they did and I cannot recommend them enough. The nicest, calmest and most helpful people you will meet in the wedding industry, I 100% recommend Montague Retreat Center to other couples looking for an amazing and beautiful experience on their wedding day.
We had our wedding at the MRC in June 2022. It is a stunning venue with professional staff who are passionate about what they do! Jackie and Kellsey were wonderful coordinators to work with. Their communication and planning before the event made us feel like everything was taken care of, and they ran the wedding flawlessly so that we didn't have to worry about any details day-of. Dale takes great care of the facility and the grounds; his passion is evident. Wheelhouse catering provided the best wedding meal we've ever had. We stayed on site with our wedding party in the gorgeous new cabins, which was such a fun and unique experience. Overall we could not recommend MRC more!!
Nested amidst the rolling hills, the multifunctional center provides a tranquil place to connect with others whatever the event.
Our daughter and (now) son-in-law booked Montague for their August 3, 2019 wedding. They were attracted by the beautiful setting and the availability of camping on the property. We and the groom's parents loved having access to the property beginning on Wednesday and really being able to get the lay-of-the-land. We appreciated the use of the bridal suite and guest rooms throughout the weekend. The Montague staff met with us on Thursday to walk us through, hour by hour, how the wedding day would look. They provided alternative ideas in case of inclement weather. They patiently answered all of our questions. On Friday, at our rehearsal, they helped our musicians set up to play during the ceremony. Throughout the weekend, one or more staff members were always available to help us. We were fortunate to have good weather throughout most of the weekend and enjoy the lovely grounds. Our guests began arriving on Friday and those who would be camping set up their sites either in the field or in the woods. We held our rehearsal and welcome dinner on Friday afternoon/evening followed by a campfire. Saturday was a bit overcast in the morning, and by mid-afternoon it began raining pretty heavily. Umbrellas were gathered so that pre-wedding photos could be taken outside. At about 3pm, the decision was made to set up for the cocktail hour inside the barn, rather than outside. Miraculously the skies cleared just in time to make the decision to hold the ceremony, scheduled for 4pm, outdoors and it was spectacular! Our guests loved seeing the wedding party emerge from the woods and enjoyed following us down the hill at the end. Having the cocktail hour in the barn worked out great and dinner in the big tent was perfect. We returned to the barn for dessert and dancing. While most of the guests danced the night away, many strolled outside to enjoy the fresh air and even began to sit around the campfire (which continued until way past our bedtime). The celebration continued with breakfast Sunday morning. We said so long to our guests and gathered up our belongings as well as some of the leftovers. Again, a staff member was onsite to assist us and do some cleaning. We were packed up and ready to depart by about 2:30, but It was hard to leave! All-in-all, we couldn't be more pleased with this wonderful wedding weekend.
