I had my first session with Jen, after trying several other nutritionists over the years, I feel Jen has given me a new outlook to approaching my health concerns with the science of food nutrition. It was a pleasure to begin my journey with Jen and look forward to our next chapters.
Jen is amazing and super supportive. She was exactly what I needed to get me back on track. She is very knowledgeable about all aspects of health and helped me better understand what I needed to do and backed what she was saying with credible information. I would refer her to anyone who is struggling with their health whether it be due to diabetes and/or cholesterol or any other health issues. She really listens and helps you set small goals that lead into larger ones.
Jen was so welcoming. What a great appointment I had today with Jen. She was very informative, so understanding. I am so very much looking forward to learning and working on my nutritional healthy lifestyle.
My experience at Messer Strength & Nutrition was great. Jen is very knowledgeable and informative, very pleasant to talk to and really listen to your goal and what you want to achieve. Relaxing environment and welcoming. I would recommend her to anyone that wants to make changes in their life when it comes to Nutrition and their goals.
Jen is AMAZING! Being a clinician myself, I can tell you Jen knows her stuff. She is great at truly listening to each client, finding out your "why" for making changes, and gives you one small goal to work on. She also helps you problem solve and creates effective strategies with plan A and B options for when life gets busy. She has a great setup in person and her online app is so easy to use. She is always available via chat on the app and she has even helped me while I was shopping! I give her a 10/10 and if you are questioning on where to go, this is it!
My doctor made a referral for me to Jen Messer Strength & Nutrition. I'm a 65 yo guy who has been in fairly good shape until recently. I always thought I knew enough to correct weight issues through exercise and diet, but after a couple of significant physical setbacks plus two years of sedentary lifestyle and poor diet, finding the road back was not as easy as in the past. I had just about given up -I almost "let the old guy in." Jen helped me get my head in a good place by going back to basics and focusing on nutrition instead of dieting. She taught me strategies for dealing with hunger, triggers and what the cues mean and how to address them with healthy actions and behaviors. Like: Meal prep, Volumetrics, label decoding, satiety optimizers, simple routines, and even enjoying myself at a wedding and not dreading the event because of the food there. I've learned many things I didn't know as an athlete/gym rat. "Bring the mind and the body will follow" is what I've experienced. Yes I've lost the weight, yes my clothes fit better, yes I have more energy, but most of all, most importantly, my blood pressure is down (soon to get off meds), my lipid profile is normal, and my chance of heart/stroke greatly decreased -and that is MY WHY. It was the first question she asked me in our first meeting. What is your why? I want to keep kicking ass well into my 70's and 80's. I have a lot to do, especially retirement with my beautiful wife and to see our son grow and have his own family one day. I'm so grateful. The old guy is not welcome anymore. I'm ready to get back to the gym. Thanks Jen!
I cannot recommend Jen enough. I came to Jen after a tough pregnancy and early postpartum days in an attempt to find my way back to myself. I had a pretty good idea of how I should be eating but felt overwhelmed after being nauseous for 9 months I didn’t know where to begin. Jen laid down the framework for rebuilding healthy habits and is so knowledgeable and fact based in her approach. She made me feel so comfortable without judgement. She has been such a great resource providing meal ideas, recipes, information regarding sports nutrition and so much more. Jen is a mom that understands what it’s like to be a busy mom with young kids and it was so nice to have someone that has been through it cheering me on and supporting me in my health journey. No matter where you are in your health journey, you want Jen in your court.
I found Jen researching online nutrition experts. Finding her site, I knew right away she was going to be the one I wanted to work with. I loved that she offered specific programs depending on an individuals need. I also liked reading about her history, her family and how passionate she is for wanting to share her knowledge, support and expertise with others. She’s incredible! She was my champion and I learned so much from her. My first time working with Jen was for high cholesterol. I was at 215, once I completed 6 very eye-opening sessions with Jen about food and activity, I was tested 4 months late and my cholesterol dropped to 174, I could not have done this on my own, learning about what we eat and to get myself moving has helped me make far better food choices. My 2nd time working with Jen was to change up my whole eating pattern which was way too restrictive. No fruits, little dairy and not eating enough food but not losing any weight either. I did not want to spend my upcoming retirement years having to watch everything I ate. I had a good base for healthy eating but knew I was depriving myself of foods I really like because I did not know how to balance the 4 food groups. A few of the many things I learned from Jen; how to fill my plate (carbs, fat protein), that it is ok to eat carbs, good carbs are essential, activity is a must and I was anchored to the scale, not anymore, I do free weights 5 times a week and walk/job 3+ miles a day, learned that muscle weights more than fat, I now know how to read food labels and I can meal plan like a champ from all the great recipes, tips and nutritional information I learned from Jen. It took a while for me to accept it is ok to eat the amount of healthy food and not gain weight, it is true, I am living proof of that. I highly recommend Jen Messer Nutrition and I am so happy I had the opportunity to work with her.
