I like the pool but when the times i was to young they said that I was to young even though there was literally 7 year olds and 10 year olds With no parents just saying If you are 12 or younger then bring a parent cause they won’t let you
I've been here twice this summer (once a weeknight and once a weekend). Overall I think it's a great clean, safe, local pool. Pros: The entire pool is only 4ft to 4ft 6inches deep. Great if you have young children just learning to swim. Plus there's a brand new splash pad right next to the pool separated by a gate. They have changing facilities, bathrooms, showers, and 4 lifeguards on duty at all times. The pool stays open longer than some other ones I've seen, so if you make it in time, you can have a post-work dip. Cons: These things didn't bother me because I went solely to swim, but the pool has a pure concrete deck. You MUST wear sandals or sit in a chair instead of lie out because you'll roast. There's no lockers, the showers/bathrooms/changing areas are very "jail like". Everything is just metal and concrete. The toilets were clean but this isn't a place to change beyond a bathing suit, do hair, etc. It's purely old school to change in and out of your suit. Depending on the day and time of day, it can get PACKED here. This isn't a place for lap swimming, it's for people with no access to a beach or private pool. Don't bring valuables, come with a bathing suit under your clothes and towel, and that's it. The biggest annoyance is the hours. They're different on 3 different websites. I asked a lifeguard and as of June 2024, the pool is open from like 11:45 to 6:30pm. They make everyone get out of the pool for 10 min every hour. The pool closes by mid August.
My boyfriend took my stepdaughter here and said that before hand online, it said it was always closed- but they in fact we’re open. So last weekend my nine year old stop daughter wanted to go swimming as it was hot out and this pool is close to our house! We get there and they had the fountain open (splash pad) but the pool was closed and she was very unhappy 😐 not cool guys!
I have heard of this pool but after COVID quarantine, I couldn’t get a clear answer to whether they were open or not and they weren’t answering the phones! Long story short, I took a chance last Saturday and I’m glad I did! It was open, free, clean and not overcrowded! I’ll take pictures next time I go
Too bad there's no diving board but the water's clear, clean and fresh and it makes for a good spot for a dunk on any hot day. Unexpectedly well kept and the shower room is constantly being washed down.
This pool is very nostalgic for me. Growing up I use to go here all the time with my parents and siblings. I use to love going next door to the park right after a day of swimming. They even had the free lunch program. It’s probably the fondest memories I have as a child. Now being 27 I love to be able to share and create my own memories with my son.
I think it's wonderful. I just found out about this pool last year. I really enjoy it, and the kids love it. The best part is that it never gets too crowded, like other city pools. I would definitely recommend it!
I will NEVER forget the day I got a telephone call telling the lifeguard to look for the girl with the long dark hair with the tattoos (luckily there wasn't many people there to be mortified Infront of) - Yes, (yet Another Control Freak just calling the pool to 1. Make SURE that I was there and 2.) the person left a message with one of the lifeguards to tell me Not to leave. &YES!! I left quite shortly after to go do laundry. Actually I really must give them props on cleaning up the park & pool so nicely. It became my morning ritual to meditate and then do some laps in the pool every morning/into the early afternoon. It's also a nice way to meet other single parents. Regardless, I highly suggest you try it out sometime next summer. Perhaps pack a picnic, bring a blanket, towels, sunscreen (spf90🙃), plenty of water, & Enjoy.
