The Lexington Town Pool is now closed for the season. The pools will open again in Spring 2025.
Full disclosure. I don't live in Lexington, but this pool complex kinda makes me wish I did. As municipal amenities go, 4 outdoor pools available to the public in a park-like setting surrounded by basketball courts, skate park, a track, athletic fields, and some nearby historic landmarks is really cool. There's a lap pool, a diving pool, a family pool, and a wading pool with splash pad for the littles. The place is clean and well-staffed with life guards. No food or drink and safety definitely comes first in the pools (no toys or floaties) but again, for a public amenity, I'm always impressed and happy it's here for us to use! The swimming lessons are great for the kiddos too!
I am a local resident and had an awful experience with this facility and staff last week, our first time there. I wanted to take my 6-yr old swimming. I told the staff that we wanted to check out the facility as we have never been there. No one took the time to explain the facilities and make us feel welcome. Upon dipping our toes in the pools, we discovered that none of the pools are heated at all and, even on a 82 deg day, the pools were freezing to the point that we could not swim in the pools. There were only a couple of others that were swimming. We tried to explain to the staff that the facilities were not working for us and asked for our money back, but the staff was very rude and said absolutely no refunds. My father in law was also charged full rate even though he was just there to watch. There was also no manager on site and the head lifeguard, Connor Rempe, who was acting manager, was very rude and told me that the manager "sets his own hours". We left very frustrated and felt ripped off of our $21 that we gave them, and therefore won't be back. Rude staff and freezing pools are not very welcoming.
Such an awesome and spacious area. Love the 3 separate pools and lane swim area too. Water is a great temperature. Lifeguards are very attentive, friendly and approachable. Thank you for a great afternoon experience.
Great facility that is well kept. It feels cleaner compared to other public pools i have been to. There is a diving pool, lane pool, a shallow splash area for small kids and our favorite, a 4ft pool that is is a little deeper in the middle, perfect for 4 to 8 year range IMHO. The life guards seem on top of things. Parking is generally not a problem. There was one major drawback. We bought a membership right before the start of the summer season. After a few weeks we got an email notifying us that for the rest of the season, there were going to be swim classes on weekdays, exactly at the peak hours when we typically go. I forget the morning hours, but i believe they go from 4:30 to 7:30pm. During this time, 2/3 to 3/4 of the pool is closed off for swim class and anyone else needs to cram in the small part of the pool. This really didn't sit well with me. It felt like a bait and switch because I don't remember that being announced anywhere on the website at the time i purchased the membership. This doesn't happen on weekends so at least we have that.
Like the look when I went inside, but it’s feels like the only thing exciting is the diving board.... It just needs more fun @ the pool. It feels like nothing has really changed. Only the countertop & the structure when you check in has changed. Like sprinkles or water slides would be great if they can afford it. Belmont seem more exciting in no offense.
Great to kill a few hours in the summer. Baby loved the splash park.
I really like the improvement in the little kids pool. The staff is always very alert exspecially around the kids. Remember to bring water socks for the youngest ones: the pool floors are very rough. If you are not a resident you can enter only of accompanied by a lexington resident. They check!! Footing device or sky King of pool water toys are not allowed.
A hidden gem for those without a pool. My kids love hitting the dive pool. Also great to note, surrounding towns can join for a fee. Registration is open for one week only in the spring. Well worth the money they charge.
