I have never had a bad experience from either staff or members and am a PF user about 6 years and several sites. It truly is a stress-free zone. I love that ALL ages and levels of fitness abilities use PF. That in itself is encouraging. Was there this morning and it was . Now, if only one would open near Lincoln NH. Going on vaca 5/13-27. Nearest is 2+hrs away. Unless you feel you have something to prove to everyone, in your own mind, you cannot do better than PF.

Good, standard Planet Fitness. No judgement zone is TRUE! PF is really what you make it for yourself. The new facility at the Hampshire Mall is gorgeous!

Wrote the post below 5 years ago and you can see by the reply the manager thought it was funny. Well now 5 years later and calling texting etc still 5 tvs on sports and one TV on an out dated movie. One is on kids sports game no kids here, please lets not treat the gym like a sports bar at least two movies ...share Below sent 5 years ago While I love going to visit Planet Fitness it was not an enjoyable visit today. While I was working out 2 tv screens had political news, one with a movie, two with sports and another showed children having surgery on their faces. After an hour I asked at the front desk if they could please change channel 1 to a different program. She said she could not change a channel it had to be approved by their corporate office. Corporate isnt open on a Saturday or Sunday. I ended up leaving because I found watching surgery upsetting. I feel my request was not over the top. Response to owner: So my question is why couldnt the channel be changed when you yourself admit the show playing was inappropriate? I know you cant control what a station shows but you sure can use the remote to change the channel. And for me to be told by the desk worker that I could call corporate sure doesnt help when it is a Saturday. When a customer has to walk out because they are uncomfortable it does not reflect well.

Been a long time member of Planet Fitness. I like that it s laid back and the staff is always kind and helpful.

The trainer was rude and somewhat unprofessional, hinting that he could accept cash tips. It would be better to either provide a tip jar or just set a clear price for the training sessions.

Nicole answered the phone when I called about my $50 charge. She was very polite and explained she was new but would do her best. She explained the $50 was an annual fee and also explained to me if I wanted to cancel my membership, I would have to come in or write a letter. I never knew! Thanks to Nicole and planet fitness. I love this gym. Its much cleaner and more welcoming than the one that is closer to home

As a PF Black Card member, I ve been to a number of locations in different states. This is one of the better ones, mainly because of the size and number of members. It s rarely overcrowded. As a football (soccer) fan, I really wish they could change the channels when Euro, Copa, EPL, etc matches are televised. I ve asked about this, and the employees say they have no control over what s on TV. With little free time, I don t want to have to choose between watching a match or going to the gym. I wish the franchise owners were more in touch with the momentous sporting events that members are interested in, so we weren t stuck with Law & Order reruns or whatever the dreck is that keeps cycling on the screens. Also, the channels that constantly air surgical and pharmaceutical weight loss commercials that fat-shame women need to be turned off. Screening these at PF directly conflicts with the messaging of PF and makes me reluctant to bring my daughter to the gym with me.

I tried to explain to the front desk that I wanted to use my credit card to pay for membership. I was told there was no way that was possible. Once I talked to a representative on the phone they told me I could get a full year membership for the same price as a black card membership on my credit card. I immediately jumped on that, thank you for listening to my issue and finding a solution.

Wish there were 0 stars. Legit go anywhere else. Staff are all rude n unprofessional nothing is refilled ever and the hours are quite unpredictable and random. Also be ready to hit with your annual fee of $50 about two months into your membership. Definitely the worst gym experience of my life.

6 years ago I signed up for a $21 membership with the Hadleys planet fitness. I used my membership for 3 month. Everything was ok till I called them; and let them know that I needed to cancel my subscription because I moved out of the state. I was told that I had to come back in person and cancel. I asked if they had any other options they said no, but I was told I could write a letter which a did. Fast forward to today nothing has been done, but they religiously take their money every month for the past 6 years. I have tried everything at my bank, empty out the account, so it will bounce but it got worse; coz now I am stuck with the overdraft fees. So is there any way to get out of this nightmare or are you going to keep taking money for the next 10 years. I need help

Really good overall, classic planet fitness, clean showers, good staff. Lots of cardio machines, lots of machines in general. Use the parking lot in the back for easier access and not having to walk through the mall. Wish they had a non smith-machine barbell for better deadlifts/rows/cleans/various lifts and were open later on weekends; but for your $ a good deal. Hours are different from what Google tells you (more hours), 24/5 Monday-fri & 6-7 sat-sun. Tanning beds and massage chairs work.

Great for getting your workout in on your own time but no free barbells and no deadlift platform.

This is a very clean and well maintained facility. The staff was remarkably professional while working with me about changing my own account. Management is friendly, cordial, and their staff is the best of any Planet Fitness that I have visited in five different states. Five Stars!

Planet fitness is a great place to begin with If youre not a hardcore bodybuilder, as they do not have barbells and bench presses. PF has good machines to workout, has decent amount of weights, plus has a full body hydro massager which does the job perfectly and many more such amenities to use. Additionally, you get the access to any of the pf locations. So if you travel alot or just want to do some physical exercise and keep your body moving definitely worth the price.

I have been working out in this franchise for a while and this gym is the one that closes too early. Usually it is open at least up to 12am but this one closes at 9pm. I usually work from 9am to 7pm and it is not good for the office workers to work out after work. So the only option is before work and I see the one in North Hampton is open 24 hours in weekdays. Do you guys have any plans to extend the business hours?

This place is a gym just like great clips is a barber shop. I forgot to leave this 1 star review from a year ago. They were charging full yearly fees of like 60 bucks even though the showers and everything were closed for covid. They have pizza days....enough said lol. Do you have an eating disorder and are looking to better your life? Well enjoy walking by tempting pizza on the way into the gym

The Planet Fitness in the Hadley mall is an excellent gym. Its divided pretty much evenly between cardio equipment and strength training equipment. Its a large, clean, well lit gym thats going to meet the needs of pretty much everybody except the most serious of bodybuilders. There are people at pretty much every Fitness level and everyone seems to get along just fine. There are four primary areas: 1. Cardio, which includes treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, stair climbers, and Rowing machines. 2. Weight training: Plenty of free weights in terms of dumbbells, but relatively limited as far as barbells. There are six Smith machines and a variety of Stack weight machines. I have never had to wait for very long to use any of the equipment. 3. Circuit: This area includes resistance training equipment to work out your entire body with the idea that you do each machine for a set period of time and are finished in 30 minutes. Excellent for organizing a general whole body workout. 4. Abs and glutes: This area is also separate from the main gym area and includes a variety of equipment for training glutes and abs. Works well as a circuit. There are also areas with massage chairs and tanning beds that are reserved for Planet Fitness Black Card members. There are two large locker rooms complete with showers and lockers that can be locked if you bring your own lock or purchase one from the front desk. There are also monitored lockers if you feel more comfortable using those for valuable items. Considering the price, this is an excellent place to get fit.

Are you kidding me PF? Not letting umass students in? They are no more high risk than anyone else just cuz their school made up a fake determination because the teachers and staff don t want to work . If you aren t going to let them in how can you charge them ? You should freeze the account of anyone You turn away; how can they pay for a month when you don t let them use the product LOL ? This is baffling

It was my first time at this location. It was clean and had all the right covid regulations in place everyone was keeping their distance. The staff was friendly and informative. I will be coming back.

I sure didnt like what I saw on the news about banning UMass Amherst students because of Covid19.

Gym is clean and everyone was masking. On cardio equipment, at weight stations everywhere I looked there were masked people. Thats great, but there were people everywhere. It is a challenge to work out without knowing a few alternatives or machines to try in a pinch. Go in off peak times and take the apps crowd meter with a big grain of salt.

Cardio machines took 50% of the floor space but only use 1 out of 5 machines due to covid but weight lifting machines and benches were jammed together, only one hydro machine working and standing tanning booths were out of order.

Staff is friendly. Place seems to be very clean and ppl our socially distancing during covid which is plus. They have sanitizing spray and towels everywhere, which all gyms usually do so that you can clean the equipment after use.

Love it gotta go everyday!

Very nice gym, it was well equipped with everything and the staff was super nice. This was my first time here and Im excited to get back to workout routines.

Went as a guest 3 times before signing up. Staff is always friendly and very helpful! It is super Clean, Clean, Clean! They do an excellent job cleaning, its amazing! I feel safe there.

not 24hrs anymore :-( i went in at 630pm with 2 guests on a saturday and had to leave by 7pm

No benching or squat racks. Pretty crowded usually but you can always find a treadmill or elliptical open. Cheapest option in the area and the massage chairs are pretty nice

EDIT: Just showed up to a locked gym for the second time in a week! Guess the first time wasnt a fluke. Had to change my rating accordingly. If you need your gym to be open on time in the morning, this isnt the gym for you. ---------------- I joined this week and the first two mornings I went it was fine, but I just spent 30 minutes waiting in my car this morning hoping the staff would actually show up to open the gym. And this was already an hour after theyre supposed to open. No one had shown up by 90 minutes past opening time so I had to leave without getting my morning workout today. Buyers remorse, big time! Hopefully this morning was just a fluke, but if it happens again I will definitely have to look for a different gym.

I went to planet fitness to get the doc noting dues paid so heath new england will reimburse me up to $150 in wellness benefits.

I just need to say the policy upheld by Planet Fitness that one must come in person or write a letter to cancel their membership is an abelist scam. Planet Fitness should be ashamed of themselves for requiring people to come to the store location during a pandemic, or rely on writing a letter that may take weeks to arrive. This is exclusionary extortion and the policy must be modified to allow cancelations over the phone. If I m told that I signed a contract in agreement to this policy let me again remind PF that that contract was before a GLOBAL HEALTH PANDEMIC. it s 2021 - do better, PF. How dare you leave out those who are high risk or have high risk house hold members. Can you assure me my letter will get to you before I m charged again? No, you can t. Planet Fitness is careless and discriminatory.

BEWARE! I m not in the habit of writing reviews but in regards to this place I felt I had to. Attempted to sign up for this gym online. There was a glitch in their online system that wouldn t let the transaction complete. I figured heavy use or something of the like. I received a couple messages from them saying it failed to go through, none saying the transaction completed. I decided I d keep working out at home, I have a pretty decent setup, let the holiday / New Year rush pass. Next I notice my credit card charged 50 bucks, $40 maintenance fee and $10 monthly membership fee. No notification that I even had a membership. I called, cancelled it so as not to get charged again, explained the issue. They checked to see if I had used the gym, I had not yet refuse a refund. They only want the quick buck, steer clear.

Unacceptable! That is the only word to describe yalls performance over the last two weeks. I want to give you the benefit of the doubt and not slam you guys too hard due to special circumstance aka CORONA. Maybe I am old school, but if you dont show up to a job on time you dont deserve a job. Here is some future advise: Hire employees that are dependable and will open your business on time. Use technology to your benefit and inform your customers when you fail to open on time. Thanks again for the inconvenience.

Nice gym

I am here 4 days a week on average. My only complaint is that the womens bathroom stalls are often unclean and not stocked. Also, the water filling station for reusable bottles needs a serious cleaning. These things probably wouldnt be as frustrating if staff didnt seem to spend most of their time hanging out at the desk and on their cell phones.Some of the male staff can be somewhat off putting as well. The workout areas are great!

The facility is huge and spotless and there are reminders everywhere that this exercise and wellness center wants people to check their egos at the door! I joined the Black Club because the price is so reasonable and the massage chairs are SO good for my medical woes. Staff is all smiles and helpful. There is always high turnover for jobs so some staff may not know the answer to your question but they WILL bring you the staff member who has your answer or will find out for you. I hate gyms but I LOVE Planet Fitness Hadley!

Great atmosphere for a workout

Ive been to several Planet Fitness locations and this is definitely one of the better ones. Clean facilities, friendly staff, and good equipment.

This was a nice change of venue. Our first time at this location and the staff was very nice and helpful. A little smaller than the location we normally attend, but it wasnt too bad, some of the exercise equipment is a little close to each other. It was a little slow at the time, so it made for being able too use any piece of equipment easy. It is a convenient location, so I can imagine that it does get busy at times

I am a relatively new member and I am recovering from major physical and emorional trauma so I have only used the Spa facilities. I have noticed a lot if provlems with consistency from the staff. Certain employees seem a bit sketchy but by and large I have had decent experiences. The equipment is awesome, especially the Hydro Massage beds. They do seem dedicated to improving, which is always a good sign. Bewate! Some of the sraff are freaking HOT! Omg!

Fairly nice with lots of machines, typically better during the summer when college is out though.

I go to the gym almost every night after work. Im a heavy person who has lost two pant sizes since starting cardio and strength training. Any time I have questions, the trainers behind the desk are happy to hop out and show me a new exercise. Their patience and knowledge are top notch. I also really appreciate the unisex single stall with a shower! Not many gyms can boast that.

I perfer the Greenfield location. I dont like the big window in the hydro massage area. Missing a few machines I like to use.

I can tell you as a new member (black) upon walking in I was not told where anything was, took a photo of me without telling me, the young college kid had no desire to move from the counter! Im a tax payer not a trust fund baby and I deserve some respect. This location is filled with those type of kids and was over crowded. Unfortunately I will have to go back and ask the employees to give me a tour on what Im paying for. I even told the guy myself he didnt give me a tour and that I was unaware they dont provide tanning eye wear. He didnt care! And FYI this location is bring your own locks as well which you should. If they dont want to help you ask for a THE manager not Assistant because thats who I was dealing with. Unacceptable

Ive kept to myself every time entering this gym, while keeping perceptive to my surrounding environment. Im a decorated, 16yr military veteran, captain US Coast Guard. That being said, this is my personal perception of this place... Not a positive environment. Not a diverse environment. Not a clean environment (odor). An immature, inconsiderate and an extremely rude staff with below average communication skills. A staff that observes gym members use equipment incorrectly and that do nothing to correct the member from injury do to a judgement free zone policy. They will watch members hurt themselves yet say nothing, FACT. If these are the services you are looking for in a gym, then Planet Fitness in South Hadley is the place for you. Two thumbs down.

Ive been a number of times now since starting my membership and its never been anything other than enjoyable. The staff is always friendly and helpful when I have a question (which can be often). The locker room and gym areas are both quite clean, and they provide a fair variety of entertainment if you havent broudghtyour own music, e.g., several channels on the TVs or a general/mainstream pop station for music. For the price Im paying, the location does a great job to provide what I need.

24 hour fitness very clean.

You cant beat it for the price, so generally pretty good. It would be better if they would fix the tv above the overhead press thats supposed to be for private/earphone use only but has the volume turned on, so you have to listen to that and (usually pretty bad) music at the same time. Ive asked about this a half-dozen times and know others have, too, so maybe this will get some action? Someone else also commented on rude staff. It often seems that way to me, but I also think there may be something generational going on. I have the sense that kids whove grown up staring at their phones just dont have great social skills, and also imagine the pay is less than great, so try to give them a break. Still, it would be nice if you didnt feel like you were getting a pro-forma brush off when you walk by the front desk.

Previous member for >12 months. The employees are kind of rude. And they way they make you sign up by directly linking a routing number and your bank account number is just weird. They make it as hard as possible for you to cancel your membership. Also hidden fees. You get billed something like $40 after your first month with a black card for no good reason. The workout equipment is okay, lots of dumbbells/machines. Tons of treadmills. You can get a great workout here with the available equipment. Its a shame, if the policies didnt feel so scummy and the staff were friendlier, this would be a great gym.

Dishonest business practice!!! I signed up during $1 promotion in January 2017. I specifically asked if there will be other fee, like annual fee? Hadley staff said there will be no other fee, just $10 a month. I read the screens of contract very carefully, and didnt see any fee mentioned. $39 was withdrew from my checking account 2 months later. A male staff acted very RUDE to intimidate me that they will not return the fee. He said he knew which girl signed me up and she was straight to every customer about $39 annual fee. (This guy lied. He was not there when I signed up.) I asked to speak to the manager (she was the one who signed me up). She looked at the computer telling me she cannot see who signed me up. (Again, proves either this manager or that guy lied.) She cannot refund the fee even if it was not disclosed to me. She directed me to email Planet Fitness corporate office. She could not provide a direct email but told me to email the customer service on PF website. She pretended to be nice that she will help me. (She was the one who created the trouble without disclosing annual fee.) I emailed the corporate office a couple of times. Only got 1 generic email response that annual fee is charged in June each year. (I got charged in March.) No more follow up email to resolve this dishonest business behavior. I was deciding to buy a $70 rowing machine before I signed up (PF doesnt have a whole body workout machine). When I found out $39 annual fee, I already paid more than $70 to Planet Fitness. I ended up cancel the membership and bought that rowing machine anyway.

Been a member at this location for 7 years. Its a great place to focus on ones workout. Its always been a great gym, with friendly people and staff. The new location in the Hampshire Mall is even better, with upgraded facilities and more exercise stations. I look forward to many more years of superior workouts at Planet Fitness Hadley!

Great place for regular people and those in training. Could be cleaner (though just moved to brand new spot)

Changed my review since they fixed a lot of previous issues. Theyve frosted over the windows in the mall and added additional trash / cleaning receptacles. Parking is awful though still because it shares it with the movie theater and mall and now the new bowling alley. Changing room is still a lot of wasted space.

just okay for a gym

Planet Fitness in Hadley is great ! Ive been going to gyms and health clubs for 25 years and this is the best deal ever, 10 bucks a month for everything you need. Great staff too. One suggestion, maybe you can get another long bar for the free weight area. Guys often take the bar off the flat bench and use it for squats , deadlift etc.. No one can do the bench press for a half hour sometimes. Another solution might be to get a squat rack , it would fit nicely to the right of the dumbell rack in front of the preacher curl :) Just a thought from an old gym rat

The equipment is kinda old but its still functional. Its a great value at $10 a month

Very big gym with friendly staff.

Member for about 3 years, the employees are always friendly, but one thing i want to mention was, there was couple of smith machine, which are not functional as it was suppose to be, specially for benchpress, when you add two or more 45lb plates, the cable stucks!!! and it was always like this for so long, never fixed or replaced for at least 4 or 5 months as far as i remember.

Pros: - 24 hrs open - cheaper than the UMass Rec center gym - monthly membership - not crowded and consequently free equipment Cons: - Wifi almost never connects - Cant use massage chairs even if you want to pay for it - Inconvenient location

The Staff are helpful. Its clean. Ive always been able to get the machines I want. (I go during the day, usually.) I dont care about fancier equipment. I prefer a low price!

They need more free weights. Using a Smith Machine for squats is whack and is not good for maintaining proper form. also I wish they had more pull up and dip stations.

I travel and visit 3 to 5 plant fitness locations per week...this location is one of the worst.. old outdated lowest level tanning booths...very small, no hydromassage beds like almost every other location...minimum equipment...small old lockers and lukewarm showers...staff is good though and it is 24 hours at least a few days of the week...but I would recommend looking to other gyms if you live in the area...

I personally like this location. It has a lot of cardio equipment, but it has very little room for a stretching area, and there are not a lot of free weights around. All of the squat racks are assisted, and the only free weight machine is the bench press. Most of the machines are completely outdated. The staff is decent.. least to say. The personal trainer (if thats what you want to call him) approached me during my workout and practically made fun of me and my room mate when working out. The other staff members hardly acknowledge you, and when I first signed up, I had to ASK to be given a tour, and the manager was almost shocked that I asked her to do so. I only go to this gym because its close to UMass and cheap, but I wouldnt recommend this gym if you want it to make your gym home.

nearly every single staff member will not actively acknowledge your presence: you have to get their attention to sign in, most will not tell you to have a nice day, nor will notice when you approach the counter for any other reason than signing in. the place is a little stinky depending on the day. the locker rooms are wonderfully clean and the couple of staff that are pleasant are great. its a place to get efficient exercise and reach some simple fitness goals at a very low price. im honestly entirely satisfied i repeat: most of the staff are total jerks and not even mediocre that their jobs (no one offered to show me the facilities, tell me anything about the yearly fees/personal training/pizza night/bagel morning/etc/etc/etc/etc/etc). the only information and duties they serve are bare-boned.
