116 Pleasant St Suite 246 & Suite 247, Easthampton, MA 01027, United States
We have two beautiful spacious spaces, Suite 246 & 247 located in the Eastworks Building in Easthampton. Our Yoga Studio and Wellness Center is 1,800 spacious square feet featuring hardwood floors and 14 foot ceilings, a wall of windows, extensive live plant life and a gorgeous view overlooking Mt Tom. We offer a variety of yoga classes and styles including Aerial Yoga as well as more traditional styles of Yoga. We feature many unique wellness workshops, events and trainings. Across the hall is our serene 1,000 square foot healing sanctuary infused with elements of nature. Here we offer Bodywork such as Shiatsu, Thai, Deep Tissue and other healing modalities including shamanic healing and energy work.
Sacred Roots and the workshop leaders they hire are not trauma informed and they do not take accountability for their impacts on community members with PTSD. They do not consider the impact of the noise from workshops on members of the Eastworks community. They ignore requests to reduce noise and they do not respond to feedback about how events like Rage Club are not appropriate for shared buildings where sounds carry into the halls and affect everyone nearby. They prioritize looking like healers rather than actually promoting healing. Healing is about community, not just individuals. Please respect the community you are in!
Jenn is amazing! I feel so peaceful and calm after a session with her. I would recommend her to relieve the negative energy attached to you.
Jessica's class is a breath of fresh air every Saturday morning! Her energy is infectious, the community is so supportive, and I leave every week feeling so strong and refreshed!
Special place. I come here for yoga. For me, set and setting is an intricate part of how I am able to harness a meditative energy while practicing yoga. This is a big reason I chose to come to Sacred Roots for yoga. The space is curated with intention and love. Each room (there is 2 different spaces across the hall from each other) are spacious and I never feel crammed. The ceilings are high, creating even more depth and a feeling of expansion. Each room has an amazing view of the outside. One of the mountain, and another of a beautiful tree right outside the window. My favorite part of each room is the indoor plants located in front of each window. Some of which are massive. They help to create a calmness within me for the duration of the yoga class. All of their teachers are also amazing. They provide mats and props so no worries if you forget yours or don't have any. The day classes are great for the views out of the window, while their night classes are lit with perfectly dimmed lights creating a relaxing ambiance. I recommend trying both. I have also received bodywork from both Jen and Steve. Jen specializes in Thai bodywork which takes place on a mat on the ground with clothing on. If you have never experienced this, it is definitely worth a try. Steve specializes in deep tissue. If you prefer deep, Steve is your guy. I have at times received "deep tissue" and afterwards felt let down that the massage therapist did not get deep enough. Steve is not only a master of deep pressure, but also intuitively feeling into where your body needs it. They also provide other amazing offerings such as sound healing, Kirtan, cocoa ceremony, dance, and more. It is a great place for like minded people to gather and meet. There website is great and shows you all they have to offer.
I have been a part of this community for years and have the upmost respect and admiration for Jennifer Parmentier! My gratitude is tremendous for all that she does at sacred roots. Her employees are amazing too! Sacred roots has changed my life and opened my heart to self love and I am deeply grateful.
I was hesitant to write this review based just on my own personal experience but lately I've connected with others who were part of this community and also had a bad experience or were taken advantage of and I thought it was only right to share this with people out there. First of all as a yoga practitioner, I found there's quite a range of quality levels in the teachers at Sacred Roots, some classes being really worthwhile and impactful while other classes were disjointed and out of touch. Quite hit or miss. While I don't think most students are affected by the poor management of this studio, I had a bad experience with the studio owner and wouldn't recommend this place if you are looking for a studio to grow roots in or call home. I taught yoga here for a year and the commitment and loyalty that I showed in building my own class from the ground wasn't honored at all. I showed up to every class for 11 straight months except for once when I was sick. I gave notice months in advance that I'd be away in August and this was no problem. When I returned after August I learned that my class was quickly given away to another teacher. I explained and asked for my class back but the studio owner tried to spin it and blame me and it wouldn't be returned to me. This was quite hypocritical after I received a sit-down lecture about commitment to the studio after a new class I was trying to start wasn't working out and no one was available to sub when I couldn't make it. The studio owner told me I should be willing to miss big family events if I wanted to grow my following at my class. Teachers are paid very little and per student, which shifted to be even less when the studio owner said the business wasn't doing well. We had long required meetings that were unpaid on weekends and passive aggressive comments would be made about teachers who didn't or couldn't show up to these. Some other people have had these kinds of experiences and, to me, it's not the kind of energy I'm looking for in a yoga studio to teach at or to practice at. If you are looking for something while you're in town or as a once in a while thing, you could find a good class if you choose right but I don't support this studio and can't recommend them to others.
I had a wonderful experience trying their aerial yoga class! I absolutely loved the ambiance of the place at night and enjoyed the closing 🧘🏾♀️ I look forward to visiting again! I've also experienced their heart centered kirtan night (second Friday in July is the next one) and body work with Jen, both wonderful experiences and I have nothing but good things to share about them!
Jen and Steve are both incredibly talented. I have had professional massages since a young age as a competitive athlete, but was blown away by Jen’s ability to heal with shiatsu! She’s intuitive, highly knowledgeable and her nurturing presence makes for a deeply calming and effective experience both mind and body! I have also attended the restorative yoga with massage class on many occasions and it’s a great way to destress after a long week. Their space is a beautiful oasis which allows to unplug from the demands of life.
The owner is a scam artist and only gives off the illusion that she is a healer, avoid at all costs.
The infrared sauna is my healing tool for winter, helping my muscles, circulation and immunity. The space is cozy and easy to book online.
Knowledgeable instructors, creative classes, and there s so much I haven t even tried yet! Plus their location in the Mill building is so convenient.
working with Jen has been healing and positive for me. her kindness, gentleness, and generosity are wonderful gifts.
Ive had several wonderful experiences at Sacred Roots, from wonderful massages in a calm and nurturing atmosphere to being able to participate in a market they held in one of their studio spaces and more. I highly recommend Sacred Roots if you are experiencing several kinds of body pain or if you just need a way to get centered and unwind.
When I start teaching at Sacred Roots, I fell in love with the place, because you think plant people can not be harmful for others. It was like a perfect place to build a community at first, but the reality was different. I dont know if it was because of the lack of professionalism by the owner or the energy itself, it never felt right. After a 1.5 years working in the studio, I moved to CT, but I promised not to leave, so I was planning to come up for the classes once a week and keep the community Id built. We talked about the new season and made the plan, then I didnt hear for 2 weeks and I was meeting with other studios closer to where I live, telling them that I cannot fill my Tuesdays because I am teaching somewhere else. 3rd week, I checked out the Sacred Roots website and saw the new programme. My classes were given to other teacher without me knowing. Since that teacher was my friend, I personally talked with her and she said that the owner told her that she talked with me and I knew what was happening. Then I texted the owner and wanted to talk but she never responded. I have at that time also ran Chakra Workshops at Sacred Roots and would not get paid for weeks after. It had been two months since the workshop and I was still waiting to get paid. It was incredibly frustrating and uncomfortable to keep asking the owner to pay the money she owed. Finally, I started to talk to other teachers about my experience with Jennifer the owner, and the way I had been treated. When the word started spreading she replied to my text messages as if nothing happened. Then I also learned that she is not Yoga Alliance certified and yet she was doing Yoga Teacher Trainings! For trainings, you DO need 500 hour Yoga Alliance certification and also approval to be able to teach other people. This place is called Sacred but it is not sacred at all. I nost definitely do not recommend it anyone.
Amazing studio that offers so many kinds of nourishing classes and events. Plus such beautiful spaces. I highly recommend;)
Jen is gifted, skilled, and so helpful
This place is amazing! Such a relaxing experience in an environment bursting with wonderful energy. Jen is incredible and her body work and healing powers are life changing! Highly recommend Sacred Roots!
Such a beautiful place of healing, acceptance and love! Thank you for what you do!
Beautifully crafted, friendly, welcoming space with patient and brilliant instructors.
Jennifer is so knowledgeable. She is a wonderful listener and creates incredible body, mind, and soul treatments plans. I couldn t be more happy with everything I have seen her for. Her body work is the best. You will not be disappointed! Positive
The massage therapy here is extraordinary! Deeply relaxing and healing. Jen is so knowledgeable about Chinese medicine and other heaIing modalities. I have been to a few massage therapists in the area and this one is the best, hands down! Sacred Roots is also such a relaxing setting.
I went to Sacred Roots for the 1st time last night to a sound healing concert. All I can say is that I felt like I was in heaven. Joa and her husband were magical and to describe what they do is impossible, it is meant to be experienced. For me it was transformational and my soul truly loved it. Thank you Jen at Sacred Roots for holding space to have wonderful events like these. The world needs more, more and more please.
I adore taking yoga classes at Sacred Roots Healing. My instructor helps me transend to a deeper state of being. The owners have created a space in the Eastworks building that feels like a secret canopy oasis... ambient lighting, lots of plants, Tibetan/ Buddhist bells. Mix that with some amazing playlists and a nadi shodhana pranayama. One is able to leave everything at the door and reconnect. I cant wait to go back next Tuesday at 5:15pm with Grace Novotny. Your class ROCKS!
I used to work in the Eastworks building many years ago and its so nice to attend classes right down the hall from where I spent my time and see such a beautiful usage of the space. I highly recommend the Sunday restorative yoga and massage class... the plants and lighting are amazing and the expansive sound of the instruments Steve plays while Jen takes us through each posture is truly immersive. I always have a really heart opening experience after each class. This place is definitely one of the valleys hidden gems.
Love this spot, if you re looking to practice in a plant filled oasis with Mountain View s, this is it. Have really enjoyed sessions with Grace especially, as well as the restorative aerial class. Savasana in the hammocks are the best as well - will be going back.
The most amazing aerial class i ve ever been to! The instructors are so wonderful and personable. 10/10 would recommend to anyone and everyone.
Gorgeous space, such safe energy!
I love coming to this studio, and now consider it my home studio. I took aerial yoga for the first time this summer, and have been coming back for more aerial as well as integral yoga. I can t wait to try out other classes. The sound healing journeys and yoga with massage are always a nice treat too. The teachers are very caring, supportive, and knowledgeable.
Stopped by during open studios. Got a lovely chair massage and the chance to try out one of the heated tables. It was so restful and replenishing. Great pick me up!
I had an amazing experience at Nashs Whale Songs Sound healing. He poured his heart and soul into this journey with all his creative musical talent . We were all deeply in the space and enjoying the timelessness of the moment. I am committed to showing up for our Yoga studios who need us! Zoom is good but this was the real thing!!!
Wow! I had such a phenomenal experience here. The space was beautiful and welcoming, and Jacqueline helped me tremendously. I enjoyed a private yoga/bodywork session. The cost was accessible, and the provider was knowledgeable and skilled. A session or class here might be the best self-care activity ever.
Sacred Roots is AMAZING!! My life has changed in all the good ways thanks to the incredible practitioners at this studio. Make a change in your life today. Put yourself first and get your body to Sacred Roots!
I came to the Vision Boarding event and I will be a new regular! Jennifer is an amazing intuitive healer creating community right here in Easthampton. If you like Kripalu or Omega come to her space and experience her love and light. If you want community come here!
I have been going to see Jen at Sacred Roots for shiatu sessions for two years now and am never dissappointed. I am a bodyworker myself so I know excellent healing work when I experience it. Jen is incredibly personal, warm, professional, and very skilled at what she does. She tunes in to my needs each month and weaves in so many different techniques and high-quality healing salves and tools---she really goes above and beyond an already exquisite foundation of shiatsu to meet you where youre at. I would unoquivically recommend her to anyone looking to move through any kind of physical or emotional stress. You will feel safe, and held, and much better after seeing her.
Jennifer is healing magic for my body. I suffer with chronic pain and meet with her weekly. No matter how bad the pain is, she makes me feel calmer and lighter inside and out. Sacred Roots Healing massage studio is zen, it s my garden of peace and tranquility.
