Competitive Edge Ski & Bike in Easthampton

I went in for snowboard boots and the clerk was quite helpful but I asked about their return policy and explained that I was trying to get a pair off Facebook marketplace before a trip I was going on but wanted a pair in case that fell through and I was told returning them wouldn’t be a problem as long as I had the receipt. I come back with the receipt in less than 30 days and am told they have a 14 day return policy and I could only receive store credit. After reading the reviews it seems like this has happened to other people and so I don’t think it’s a one time miscommunication.

They don’t stand by their equipment. Rented skis for the season that were defective - one ski literally split lengthwise. I could see inside that it was being held together by glue, and was probably unsafe to use in the first place. My family was on vacation so we were forced to buy a used pair for my son so that his trip wasn’t ruined. When I returned the skis the store refused to refund any of our money, gave me an attitude, and blamed it on my beginner-skier son. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere.

Came in for some advice on replacing my old snowboard bindings. The staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. Would definitely recommend this shop.

I needed to buy a bike for my granddaughter’s birthday and wanted a reasonably priced brand name bike. I went to at least eight different bike shops and all of them had bikes ranging from 449.00 to 650.00 which was a little high for my budget. I finally went to competitive edge in Easthampton where they sold me a really nice brand new Trek bicycle for 349.00 and I couldn’t be happier. Great service and a wonderful place to do business. If you are looking for a reasonably priced bike with great service this is the place to go.

The guys and gals here are super kind, helpful, and knowledgeable about skiing, they were able to help me pick out and set up a new pair albeit a little bit more expensive than other places. However I was told by the gentleman that helped me that if I’m not happy with the skis or don’t end up using them I can return them. After a couple months I never ended up using them, so I returned to the shop with receipt in hand and the unused skis. When I asked if I could return them I was told, “we don’t do returns here” and after I told him that the gentleman who helped me pick them out said that I could return them or if they were used the shop would buy them back, he still said that they don’t do returns and my only option is to exchange it with a different pair. It is incredibly unprofessional and inappropriate of them to go back on their verbal agreement. Especially when it says nothing about “no returns” on the receipt when I bought them. If anything it says, “*RECEIPT REQUIRED FOR ALL RETURNS*” This should have been more clearly marked or expressed. I’m beyond disappointed and will be looking elsewhere in the future when I need any more ski equipment.

Been going to this shop since I was a kid and I think all but one set of skis has come from them. My experience was no different this time. Same guy helping me after all these years, I told him how I planned to spend my time on the slopes and he pointed to a pair of skis that I was thinking of after doing research. To top it off, he gave me a great deal on them and had the bindings mounted and skis tuned in less than an hour. Seriously premium service! Knowledgeable and straight forward, this no nonsense shop will get you good to go in no time!

I have been a customer of Competitive Edge Ski and Bike since they first opened their store down the road from Mt. Tom many years ago. I have always been extremely satisfied with their friendly, helpful service, and great quality skis and clothing. I bought a pair of Atomic skis last year and I absolutely love them. They always know how to fit you to the right ski for your skiing ability. Today, I bought myself a new ski outfit and I can't wait to wear it on the slopes next week. I was very happy with the help that I received picking out this new outfit and the price was great. I highly recommend that you shop at this wonderful store!

Bought my first mountain bike from them when I was a teenager and they were in Hadley. Purchased a pair of skis in my 20's. Now I bought my daughter her first bike there. Great service and they have another store in East Longmeadow with more inventory. They also sell throw back Mt Tom Ski Area t-shirts.
