We opened Renew Pilates together in 2011 because we believe that a sound, strong body is paramount to living a better life. We provide quality, hands-on pilates instruction in a friendly, professional environment. We pride ourselves on our eye for detail in movement and alignment, and we understand that every body has its own story and unique needs. We connect regularly to discuss the progress of our students and we work together to develop programs and classes that will benefit each student. It is our priority to give everyone the attention they deserve. Welcome to our studio.
I turned to Nicole for help with my feet following a challenging Vermont 100 race in which they were the primary limiting factor. Nicole was patient and expert in her analysis and provided supportive and helpful advice not only on exercises but also on shoe and sock choices. After working with her I had a successful season this year including a foot-pain free West Highland Way race.
Training with Lindsay and Nicole is the quintessential whole body workout. The benefits were apparent after my first session and now something I had never experienced before, deep muscle support throughout my entire body. Lindsay and Nicole quickly transitioned to online sessions during the COVID19 crisis without any loss of quality, professionalism and personal interaction. I'm continually impressed by their depth of knowledge and creativity.
Nicole and Lindsay create a professional, supportive, enthusiastic, and fun Pilates experience. Over the past two and half years my posture, strength, and flexibility have improved so much! My body awareness has been honed, and my aches and pains are virtually gone. During our months of COVID confinement Lindsay and Nicole have adapted all that they offer in the studio to an online format. Even with the responsibilities of caring for and home schooling their children, they have continued to address the needs and bodies of each student right through the Zoom screen with the same humor, commitment and enthusiasm.
I have been taking Pilates classes, for the first time, with Lindsay Lynn for a year. I am 71 years old and have studied on and off dance and aerobics for years. I have had several muscular skeletal issues as well as arthritis which have interfered with my daily quality of living. Lindsay is the best teacher I have ever had. She is, first of all, so safe with each of her students, and remembers everyone's problems for each class. She is careful to adjust or focus on their problem areas. Pilates requires complete focus on every part of your body when performing even a simple movement. This can become overwhelming and very challenging for someone new to this form of exercise. Lindsay is excellent at giving clear and precise cues throughout each exercise, and adds her own style of humor to make it more fun. She makes careful corrections to adjust your body so you are able to get the most benefit from each movement. I highly recommend these classes to anyone, no matter what your experience, age, size or fitness level may be. You will feel better and stronger and generalize lots of body placement tips throughout your daily activities.
Working with Lindsay in private and group classes has had a huge positive impact on my life. Under her guidance, I have seen my posture, strength, and mobility change dramatically over the last year. Lindsay is incredibly knowledgeable, energetic, and inquisitive -- asking questions to understand how she can help address acute or chronic issues (pain, tightness, etc.), and helping you understand how to translate that to a home practice. I cannot recommend Renew Pilates enough - smart people doing amazing work.
I have done Pilates off and on for a decade and it always proves to be one of the best things for my body; the combination of strength, stretch and alignment is great for anyone who wants to feel strong, painfree and embodied. Like any discipline, there is just no substitute for a great teacher, which is certainly what makes Renew so special. Sure, the space is beautiful and the equipment is top-notch, but Lindsay and Nicole are outstanding instructors. Their classes are very well taught, and each student's individual needs, abilities, goals, and/ or injuries are always addressed. Whether you are new to Pilates or a veteran, go to Renew, you won't be disappointed!!
Renew is great for the mind, body and soul! I have been taking classes and participating in individual lessons at Renew for almost 3 years. I choose Renew because Nicole and Lindsay are knowledgeable, dedicated, and enthusiastic instructors who are committed to helping people attain their personal goals. They also appropriately challenge and push you and help hold you accountable for working up to your full potential. Pilates has been a great addition to my fitness routine and I am reminded daily of the benefits!
My experience at Renew has truly "renewed" me and strengthened my body, awareness and confidence. Thank you Nicole and Lindsay!!!! Highly recommended. It is over 5 years now and I attend chair, mat and reformer classes hungrily. The chronic knee pain I entered with has vanished. Nicole and Lindsay always ask each person how his/her body is and attend to each person's needs in the class. I am "hooked" on Pilates... can't wait for the studio to open after the Holidays!!
I ve taken class with both Lindsey and Nicole and have loved both. They are so knowledgeable about anatomy and body mechanics; their cueing is spot-on and they are really invested in their students success.
Ive been going to Renew for years and am so grateful that theyve continued to offer classes remotely during the pandemic - its made a huge difference for me. Lindsay and Nic are excellent teachers whose commitment to their students is clear, as they continue to develop classes and learning options during this strange time.
Lindsay and Nicole came through! At the start of the pandemic they pulled together on-line classes quickly and well. Their smiling faces and weekly Pilate workouts helped keep me sane, healthy and toned. I highly recommend these teachers and the Renewal Pilates studio!
During the pandemic crisis, Renew Pilates Studio of Easthampton provided a quick and smooth transition from in-studio instruction to remote instruction, accommodating students of all levels in their zoom classes. From their homes, each instructor demonstrated each exercise, then watched their students practice as evidenced by explicit corrections made to me during my practice. In each class I witnessed their careful instruction, was encouraged to reach my potential, and felt totally cared for during the remote experience similar to being in their studio. Lindsay and Nicole are professionals. Their complete care and expertise came through the remote classes and I feel very fortunate to be a part of their family of students. 5 stars for sure!
I cannot recommend Renew Pilates highly enough. I have just rounded 50 and after 30+ years of living with back/neck pain have tried many modalities--massage, chiropractic, meditation, etc., etc.--but nothing has been nearly as effective as my work with Nicole Kutcher at Renew. Over the past 6-8 months we have worked together to develop a simple daily exercise routine, which has largely eliminated the pain I lived with every day and enabled me to return to many of the activities I had been forced to curtail due to fear of injury. I appreciate her knowledge base, flexible approach that focuses on my needs rather than Pilates doctrine, attention to detail, and unusual blend of compassion and no nonsense, and hope to work with her for a long time to come.
Five years of pilates for this 60+yo at Renew and Ive developed a stronger core, avoided predicted plantar fasciitis, and began doing sprint triathlons! The individual assessment Nicole and Lindsay provide each participant is skilled and insightful. I came to Renew with some athletic interests but the teachers at Renew are ever sensitive to modifications for individuals of all abilities, ages and needs and make pilates challenging and safe. Classes are an unexpected source of support and fun. A big plus is that pilates has lessened the effects of aging!
Lindsay is an exceptional teacher. I started working with her almost 2 years ago, and she has helped me rehab, as well as significantly improve my strength and flexibility. Her depth of knowledge, and her tremendous ability to explain and inspire, are only equalled by her great compassion and generosity of spirit.
Renew Pilates is my favorite place in the world. A year ago I was in constant shoulder and back pain and I had stopped all physical activity. I had been working with a physical therapist for about 3 months and was making little progress. Nicole pretty much bent over backwards (pilates pun) to fit me into her schedule for one on one classes. She spent so much time base lining my body, understanding my goals, and developing a series of pilates exercises just for me. The most impressive thing was her continued commitment. Every class she had updated or changed something in her lesson plan based on an observation she made the week before. She is incredibly motivated and devotes an insane amount of time into considering the best way to work with her students. Working out with her makes it obvious how knowledgeable she is about the human body and how talented she is at applying her knowledge to the needs of the individual she is working with. Almost more impressive than how prepared she is for each session, is how quickly she can adapt to the way you perform that day. If you come in with your legs a little tighter than usual she will tweak her plan as you go to make sure you leave the studio felling as refreshed and healed as you possibly can. After getting to the point where my shoulder was recovered I moved into group classes. I take tower and mat with Lindsay and reformer with Nicole. Lindsay is an awesome group instructor (I am sure she is wonderful for one on one also). They both bring so much focus to her lessons. Lindsay and Nicole fluidly split their attention between each student and tailor their instruction to the skill level of the individual. The group classes are very challenging and build as the group progresses. Students are always encouraged to ask questions and build understanding about the movements. And I have definitely noticed positive changes in my appearance. I think they have given me a foundation to stay healthy by feeling the way my body responds to movement in a way that allows me to recognize when something is not right. They have taught me so much about the relationship with strength and flexibility and they have given me the ability to improve both. I can t say enough about Lindsay and Nicole. They are kick butt ladies running an awesome business.
My 16 year old son is a multi-sport high school athlete, who was doing daily Crossfit style workouts. He was having trouble with hamstring flexibility so I brought him to Nicole at Renew Pilates. Nicole did far more than improve his hamstring flexibility. She assessed postural flaws and strength deficits in a comprehensive way and taught him how proper mechanics improve overall strength and athletic performance. I wish we could have Nicole on staff at the high school. I highly recommend Nicole for her expertise and affable demeanor. She is great.
I have lived with chronic back and joint pain for nearly my entire life. Working with Lindsay and Nicole has been phenomenal. Over the three years Ive been taking classes and private lessons at Renew my pain has virtually disappeared. Nicole has devised an individual workout plan that addresses the unique issues with my back and joints so that I safely build strength. She is incredibly patient as I relearn how to use my body in a healthy way and gently pushes me beyond what I ever thought possible. Thanks to her expert instruction I now live virtually pain free. Additionally, I was able to take Pilates throughout my entire last pregnancy, which I credit with speeding up my post-partum recovery. If you want fantastic, individualized, and holistic Pilates instruction, Renew is the place.
Renew Pilates studio is a very well cared for and bright space, with a gorgeous view of Mt. Tom. The instruction is individualized and personal (it is unmatched, based on my experience with other studios in the area). I am challenged during each class and I dont get away with just doing a move on the mat or reformer mindlessly. Ive been taking classes for a year and a half and its great to see the changes in my posture, core strength, and muscle tone. Co-owners Lindsay and Nicole put their hearts into their business and it shows!
Ive been going to Renew for several years now, and I cant say enough about the knowledge and astuteness of Nicole and Lindsay. They really know anatomy and can identify why we feel pain. I had a hip flexor pain for several years, and I rarely have it anymore, and I attribute it to Pilates and going to Renew. I wish I could send all of my chronic pain clients to Renew, because theyd feel so much better with regular visits. An hour at Renew will help re-set your brain as well. If you dare to lose awareness of the movements, and do your grocery list in your head, Nicole will call you on it, and get you back to the present. An hour of being in the present is worth a lot, these days. Just do it!
As one of Lindsay and Nicoles first clients, I am so pleased at their success and the wonderful studio and community they have created. Their dedication to detail can truly realign your body and your understanding of how it works. I say this as a middle-aged, once flat-footed man who has managed to develop arches and stand tall! The fact that I arise at 5:30 a.m. to travel from Greenfield to Eashampton for a weekly lesson says it all. I encourage you to give them a try.
I have been practicing Pilates on and off since 1982. My first teacher and trainer was a student of Joseph Pilates. I have studied with quite a few people over the years and have experienced the changes that have taken place in the discipline. Nicole and Lindsay embody the best of the old and the new in Pilates. Because I have injuries I rarely do mat or reformer classes but take individual lessons and work independently at the gym a couple times a week. This has worked out very well. I am as strong now as I ever was and am relatively pain free. Nicole pushes me to be precise in my movements and find the the fullest range possible. She has crafted a routine that includes work on the reformer, the chair, the cadillac and mat that keeps me in good shape as well as giving me homework. She adjusts the routine periodically to accommodate changes in my body. It doesnt get any better than this. You want good Pilates with people who know what they are doing? Renew is the place.
Renew Pilates in Easthampton, Ma is a beautiful studio with a great airy feel, full of natural light. Nicole and Lindsay are wonderful instructors who focus on each individual student to help access there situation and needs, then develop a program that will help them to achieve their goals. I would highly recommend Renew Pilates to anyone from beginners to those with previous experience.
