PVFA is a full service fencing club for fencers ages 7 through adult. We teach foil, epee, saber, and German Longsword. We have certified coaches, provide equipment to beginners, and welcome new students. Start any week. (There's no need to wait for an intro class to start.) Founded in 2003, PVFA is the only full time fencing club in western Massachusetts run by a certified Fencing Master. Many of its students have gone on to fence in college, some even earning fencing scholarships, and a few have even won medals at national and international competitions.
The largest fencing club in the area. Paul has 30 years coaching experiences. He also coaches at Amherst College club fencing.
Didn't have a great experience with this business. Wouldn't recommend

PVFA is a fantastic place for fencers of all ages and levels of experience. I personally have fenced here for 6 years as of 2023, and have developed from a casual fencer to a high level competitor. PVFA also has a wonderful kids class program, that helps young kids mature and grow into confident people and strong fencers. I couldn’t recommend this place more.
Wonderful learning experience! Paul is a Certified Fencing Master and Camilla is a competitive fencer and college level fencing coach- they both clearly love fencing and are open to teaching beginners as well as nurturing competitive fencers for long term success. My child began fencing out of curiosity and is now winning medals at tournaments and experiencing practice sessions alongside fencers of all ages and abilities. So glad we happened upon this best kept secret in kids' sports!
If you want your kids to be serious with fencing and to be competitive, I wouldn't recommend this place. My kid spent a year here and was very confused with the rules. My kid couldn't compete anywhere else. It took a while for a different club to correct his forms. If you just want your kids to be a casual fencer then go for it. You get what you pay. IMO it's better to start with the right foot at a young age. Overall fencing is a competitive sport.
This place has HEMA/Historical Fencing. It's a ton of fun, much more so than modern fencing. Come fight with longswords!
This place is fantastic. Paul, Camilla, and the crew are great coaches and very very supportive for everyone from beginners to a-rated fencers.
Great place to learn fencing!
