SWEAT Power Yoga is a transformational movement studio that uses yoga, inquiry, and meditation to fuel an authentic and inspired life. Creativity and acceptance live at the heart of this studio.
SWEAT is a wicked awesome studio- the best. Krystal and her team have cultivated an environment that encourages authenticity and soul - A place where all are welcome just as they are. Walk in and feel the love and sunshine - peace awaits.
SWEAT is incredible - diverse, supportive and motivational. Talented, focused teachers and always a big menu of exciting new options to advance your practice. Very grateful for this community.
SWEAT is the most amazing studio you will step into. Every time I leave class, I feel a million times better than when I walked through the door. The teachers are great and give you as much guidance as you need. They are constantly innovating and keeping things fresh, but are also great at sticking to their roots and doing what they do best. Just an amazing studio all-around!
Doing yoga here has contributed so much to my mental health. Physical health too, but for me the mental health benefits are huge. Bonus is that they offer live online classes, which allows me to attend more often than I otherwise could, as I've moved farther away from the studio. Honestly all of the teachers are great!
I went back to in-studio classes today for the first time in over a year. I was a bit hesitant about wearing a mask during a hot yoga practice, but given the intensity of the workout, I completely forgot I had it on! As always, Krystal is amazing and has taken every precaution to resume classes safely with the well-being of the SWEAT community as her top priority. So good to be back!
SWEAT Power Yoga is a welcoming and inspiring family of yogis who lift one another up and promote self-love, healing, and growth. As a lover of Bikram yoga (the 26 poses, the extreme heat, and the intensity), I was originally skeptical that I would like a more flowy, vibey style of yoga in a less heated environment. But, I went anyway, and I was nothing but thrilled to find a community of strong, encouraging [mostly] women. I have found my time at SWEAT to be energizing and rejuvenating. I lean on my practice to center and calm me. During COVID-19, it has been stressful not feeling fully in control of my routine. While we're all stuck at home, exercise seems pretty difficult--especially if going to a heated studio is your jam! Though SWEAT was initially closed at the outset of the pandemic (as they should be!), they found ways for us to practice safely remotely/digitally through online streaming classes. Then, they transitioned to outdoor practice in a park. Finally, the added in-studio pod/group programming with social distancing (and mask use and specific procedures in the lobby). I have been impressed with how the SWEAT team has adjusted to pandemic life. And I've always been impressed with their use of technology (they have the MindBody app, so you can buy class packs and schedule classes online or from the MindBody mobile app). I recently tried the Roll and Flow program (with Krystal) and the Weighted Flow program (with Susan)--both were excellent. Roll and Flow is all about using tiny balls to roll stress points in your body (there are scientific words involved... I don't know them... something about myofascial release...). It was quite relaxing and helpful! I definitely felt the release of muscle tension. Weighted Flow is all about using ~1 pound weighted balls throughout the yoga flow--you'd be surprised at how much two seemingly lightweight balls can buff you up in a couple weeks! It was a true workout in the best of ways. Next, I can't finish this review without mentioning the holiday sessions. Thanksgiving session was, by far, one of the best parts of my year last year. If I recall, it was a 90-minute session (right?! I love those... if it wasn't, it just felt like it!)--it featured Susan's epic rock playlist, Bon Jovi and all. And it had this togetherness feeling, all about being a part of a community, and getting somewhere with a shared sense of power. It energized me for the months to come, and I look back at that moment--and the empowerment that I felt that day--as encouragement sometimes. I was SO looking forward to this year's Thanksgiving session, but COVID is taking it away for now. Nevertheless, when we're back to normal, I can't wait for more of these special holiday programs. There aren't many other things I'd rather be doing than replenishing my soul with the inspiring words of the SWEAT instructors. On that note, it's apropos to mention that all of the instructors are fabulous, and they each have their own style. Krystal is uplifting with the meditations she brings to the practice--she makes you feel thoughtful in what you're doing. Susan is like a badass mom who makes you feel like a rockstar. Nicole is quirky and always brings light and joy to the room--she is great at pointing out the physicality of the work... what muscles, what sensations. Ben is helpful and all about betterment--he's a champ at suggesting adjustments and ways to deepen a pose. I couldn't recommend the SWEAT studio enough. Great crew, great vibe, great space!
I'm so happy I found SWEAT! It has been just what I've needed, mentally and physically. I just started practicing yoga a month or so ago. I have found the teachers seem very in-tune with the skill level of the yogis in the class and adjust their cues accordingly. Their attentive instruction has made me feel comfortable being inexperienced and new. Practicing here has taught me to calm my mind and be present, more than I ever knew I needed. It has been a great source of anxiety relief, especially during the pandemic. They have been very good about social distancing and sanitizing. I have had a chance to attend both their outdoor and indoor classes. They are going above and beyond to ensure everyone is keeping safe.
This studio made me fall in love in yoga. I primarily went to Nicole's evening classes, and she was incredible. I had only done yoga once before but my experience at SWEAT Power Yoga has turned me into a lifelong yogi :) Many thanks to Nicole and Krystal for providing a consistent atmosphere of wellness, inclusiveness, and warmth.
