Bike & cross-country ski trails & 25-acre pond for swimming & fishing on 575 acres with picnic area.
Great place to walk dogs. Also nice beach for swimming in the summer. Can be expensive to enter during summer months so get a year pass if you are planning to visit several times.
A very nice and peaceful park with a little beach and reservoir. It is very beautiful in the fall.
I bike here all the time with my friend. There's many trails along the forest that you can take. There's also a long bike trail that loops around the park back to the area where you came from. Beautiful lake to take pictures too.
Rented the pavilion here for a graduation party. The park was very well maintained - grounds, beach, picnic tables, grills, and bathrooms were all above expectations. The staff were pleasant and accessible for any questions/assistance needed as they were out actively maintaining the amenities and easy to find at any time. It would be ideal if the pavilion was on the other end of the lawn space with tables/grills so that it's closer to the beach - it's not a far walk at all, but if you're having a get together at the pavilion, your time at the beach will be more of a dedicated beach time rather than coming and going from the pavilion more frequently, so the gathering will feel a bit split if there's people at the beach and pavilion, but that also means it's close to parking to move your picnic supplies in/out, wheelchair accessible, and near restrooms, so the location does have it's benefits as well. We had a fantastic time and will certainly be back - even with out of state plates, the rate is worth it for the well maintained park and amenities.
Beautiful park and near home! Great for walking, hiking and mountain biking!
My first time going and I wished I have gone sooner. Beautiful area with lots of areas to picnic and BBQ. Very clean and safe. Water was cold and clean and safe to swim. Plenty of lifeguards and very clean restrooms. A must place to go for the summer and best of all pet friendly.
Nothing like Autumn in New England, and place is paradise for a shutterbug like me. The colors reflect perfectly upon the water on a crisp October morning.
Wonderful state park. There are BBQ, a lovely swimming area with life guards, clean bathrooms, and beautiful trails. A great rest stop on the way to New Hampshire or Orange, MA. There are plenty of activities to do and only 1 hour from New Haven for a beautiful drive and respite in nature.
