Draper Playground, 5275 Washington St, Boston, MA 02132, United States
Didn’t go to the pool. But visited the park outside. Great off street location.
I learned to swim here 20 years ago. Aristidez taught me and is still the manager. It's clean, comfortable, and always has quality lifeguards. Since the renovations the big sliding glass doors let in lots of light. Love this place.
Pretty good place to swim laps, especially now during the pandemic. Easy to register online and they only allow 1 person per lane. However, the pool is often too cool and the 2 showers available (for pre-swim only)take 5-10 min to warm up 🙄. Here's hoping there's warmer water in the pool & showers before the really cold weather is here!
It's a good clean pool albeit a little cool for my taste. Staff if very good. What bothers me is that I come at noon to swim and I'm told they're closed until 1:00PM. The hours on the window show closing at 6:00PM today. Totally unclear and uninformative.
Great pool. Temp: 84-86. Perfect for families and therapy
The Draper Pool is very stringent when it comes to payment methods. This information is not listed on their website. You can only pay with a bank check or money order. No paying with credit or cash. You have to pay in person during the week between 8:30am and 4pm. Registration is not open on Saturdays even though the pool is. You have to have a membership to swim and swipe your member card to swim. No guest swimming. Their rate which are yearly are very affordable though!🙂🙂 The pool is beautiful too🙂
Clean fun pool. The lifeguards are so nice. They have k cup coffee and pool devices such as flotation devices for children and strength building devices too. Also noodles and kick boards
Parking difficult. I went before eleven a.m. So not sure about other times. Clean. Nice staff. However, only 3 showers and one is for the handicapped. Leave swimming area a few minutes before time up to catch one or stand waiting for use. There is a barrier in shower area on the floor, a lip I think they call it, between shower and where you stand to take off bathing suit. I didn't see it at first, and tripped on it! So watch out! Changing room needs updating. Bathing suit squeezer in lobby, so, I guess you have to walk with your dripping wet bathing suit through lobby to use it. Inconvenient. It has free coffee in the lobby. Nice touch. There's a sign on Washington Street, but I feel it could be larger. I missed it the first time I went there and ended up at Dunks nearby. You could easily walk there and relax after your swim with a breakfast sandwich. This pool is compact, hidden from street, like a Fernando's Hideaway. One could easily miss it, or think it's a private pool owned by condos next to it. It wasn't unbearably crowded, so I wondered about the difficult parking. The parking area is also used by people who come to the playground nearby, and it seems on the bad snow days, neighbors use it, at least this is what I was told. All in all, it's a good back up when I can't swim at my usual pool.
