This year’s resolution was to start working out regularly. I didn’t have time and energy after I had a baby, but definitely needed it, was a little nervous to start it since I’d never done Pilates reformer before and didn’t worked out since becoming pregnant. I tried Pilates Reformer and loved it, now I’m hooked. I’ve been doing it since January (so about 6 months) and already feel stronger physically and mentally better too, and since I have a toddler, I need to be strong, healthy and energetic to keep up with her. My instructor is Sophie, she’s very patient and explains everything perfectly. Highly recommend even if you never tried it before!
I can’t recommend Gold Coast enough! I started with a private lesson where Kristen took the time to understand my goals and injury history and taught me how to use the reformer. I’ve been going at least weekly since, and classes with Kristen and Sophie have been great every time! I feel encouraged to keep coming back and challenging myself. Kristen has been so thorough with adjustments for my injury and this is the longest I’ve gone without a re-injury in the past 6 years. I just hit my 30 class mark and am excited to continue. Gold Coast Pilates has provided me with the opportunity to feel more connected with my body after I struggled for quite a while to understand how my body had changed after two babies. It feels good to come to a place where I can just focus on movement and breathing. It is quite literally like having a breath of fresh air in my life. All the instructors I’ve taken classes with have been very knowledgeable and encouraging. Kristen in particular takes time to make sure every student is comfortable with the equipment and understands how the exercises are helping us build our strength. I can’t thank Gold Coast Pilates enough for creating an environment where I feel comfortable and increasingly confident with what my body can do.
I started taking classes at Gold Coast Pilates last summer and they quickly became part of my weekly routine! I absolutely the love the variety of classes - from back to basics, to a traditional lifestyle reformer to power to jump. I've hit the 30 class threshold and am now working on the 100's board! My previous Pilates experience was in larger classes where instruction moves forward whether you're ready or not. I've loved being a part of two to five person classes where we all receive the attention we need to succeed. Kristin & Eme are fantastic instructors who are dedicated to the safety and progression of their students :)
If you are looking for a place to start your Pilates journey, then this is where you should begin. Kristen and Eme are so knowledgeable, enthusiastic and kind. I was new to Pilates and was very intimidated by using the reformer. After one class I knew I had stumbled upon a workout that really suited my needs. I thoroughly enjoy how you are focused on your mind and body while performing Pilates. It is in no way competitive, you are honing your skills and challenging your body to become stronger and trust what your body is capable of. I have struggled with chronic migraines, Pilates has helped me develop a lot of strength in my upper body as well as help reduce my stress. I always leave class feeling strong and motivated.
Amazing! Kristen was incredible. I had a private session with her today. I was quite the client, seeing as: 1) I had never done the reformer before, 2) I have an extensive injury history, and; 3) I can’t recall my last Pilates mat or chair class. All of that being the case, Kristen put me at ease immediately, and made me feel very comfortable. She is very informed, attentive, helpful and articulate. I am very happy a friend referred me here. All of my questions were answered articulately, thoroughly, and with good humor. Kristen was excellent at cueing me and has a keen eye for form, focus, and all physical factors. I am so glad I got a new client class/private combo package, and I highly recommend it! I am excited to work with Sophie as well, next week. Truly, I already feel a difference in my awareness of my posture, and relief in my neck and jaw. I think I’ll sign up for the Core Curriculum too; cause I already can hardly wait to be back!
I took my first ever pilates class yesterday, I did a private lesson with Kristen for me and my mom. Kristen was knowledgeable, friendly, and made both of us very comfortable the whole time. Since Kristen is a physical therapist she was able to make the appropriate adjustments for our injuries. Her studio is easy to find, clean, and bright. Highly recommend!
