Golf course is fun to play but the pace of play is always slow.
A fairly new restaurant on-site, only 4-6 weeks in, I believe. Tables on the Green. We were not quite sure where to park when we arrived. While there is a sign on the main road, there isn't one to direct you once you get up there. The lower level is the golf shop, so we walked around up the hill. Luckily, the first door had a small green placard, which said restaurant. We were greeted by the bar atendant within a couple of minutes of entry. It appeared there were 3 waitstaff working the tables. Decent volume and all ages of patrons. Coffee and tea were quick to appear. Both of us received menus. One was missing an insert page, so we just referenced the other to confirm it was a lunch menu that we didn't need. Ultimately, we ordered the breakfast Shepard Pie and the Country Skillet. I did ask for pepperjack cheese rather than american. The waiter was great, attentive, and never idle. The table next to us had a pancake stack, and the cakes were bigger than the dinner plate. There party was choosing to share and still needed a box. It's a great view if you can sit by the windows. The carpet keeps the volume of a full room dampened down. The challenge is keeping the floor clean with all the food crumbs and spills. Overall, you could see the staff giving it their best, especially near the kid tables. Food arrived quickly and looked great. There were two challenges, both with the country skillet. The cheese placed was american, and half the dish was cold, while the other half was piping hot. It was a bit odd. Yes, I could have asked for someone to take it back and warm it up. The server was one who would be more than accommodating, but honestly, it was minor enough to not be worth it to me as my partners food was just right. He really enjoyed the shredded hash, hollandaise, and sausage. We both appreciated the generous portions of fresh bread toast. You could tell it had to be made that day or just the evening before and only hours old. We will return and maybe try lunch. It was a nice spot, and the staff were awesome.
I love Cold Spring. Fast greens, amazing conditions, awesome staff. Cold springs has it all, from affordability to good food. Each time I've gone I've had nothing short of a blast. If you need lessons Dave is the man, incredibly knowledgeable and teaches golf in an easily digestible manner. The members are all extremely friendly and have helped me a ton in navigating the courses layout. I can't suggest Cold Spring enough. Also there's a tunnel between hole 10 to 11 which is really cool.
Great 18 holes of golf! Got right out and fairways were awesome(when I hit one). Lunch was awesome. Short staffed and it was very busy. HIGHLY recommend the clam chowder. Pulled pork sandwich was just as good!!!
Slope needed on scope Idyllic paths between holes Hygrometer weeps Challenging course in excellent condition. Long day walking but worth it. A good 6 miles on foot and the watch showed 22 floors climbed. Perfect excuse for a cocktail and a break at the turn after pushing up hole 9. There are a handful of paths between holes that are very calming after 3 putt bogeys. First but not last go at this course. Don’t play your draw on #2.
The food was delicious and the views are amazing. Our waitress was very professional and friendly. We will definitely be coming back here. I can’t wait until the weather warms up and eat outside
Played last weekend (Oct 13, 2019) for the first time in a while and enjoyed it. Greens were in good shape and rolled well, and the course overall was in good condition. Play was fine, with no holdups even at 1:00 in afternoon, Overall, a good golf experience. Note: Remember to play 2 extra clubs for your approach on 18 - it is extremely uphill!
Great 18-hole golf course. Great price for the condition of the course. There are lots of hills that make the game a bit more challenging. Friendly staff in a great location with a really nice range!
